H moves around on job sites, and is getting tired of turkey sandwiches and salads. Any other good ideas, that don't need to be heated up? He can keep food cold with an ice pack.
Toss things in like: - prosciutto wrapped around mozz / string cheese - cold pesto, pasta, chicken - grape tomatoes - carrot sticks, cucumbers, hummus - whole wheat wraps with a chilled Mexican filling (beans, deli or leftover meat, cheese, veg) - nuts - peanut butter - compartment with fruit salad (make on Sunday, use for the week) - berries - diced grilled chicken
The stainless steel thermos food containers are great for things like pasta, rice and beans, and of course soup. They keep things warm for a long time.
DH works various job sites too. He requests pinwheels (basically a wrap cut up) and cold pizza usually when he wants a change. Sometimes he'll take cold quesadillas.

I really love toasted bread with avocado, grape tomatoes, salt/pepper and balsamic vinegar. I take this to work often, unassembled, and then put it all together when I eat it.

Lately for lunch I've been having an antipasti plate of sorts with a lot of the things CloudBee mentioned. Typically it consists of:
cucumber kalamata olives cherry tomatoes prosciutto mozzarella (or some other cheese)
Sometimes I'll add avocado if I have a ripe one at home, though then I have to use a fork to eat it which annoys me. You can use grilled chicken breast in place of the prosciutto too.

my typical lunches are usually just leftovers from the previous night's dinner.
example:
-fajitas last night = rice bowl or fajita salad tomorrow -salad last night = add tuna and/or grilled chicken on top, some cheese for protein*
i also am one of those people that preps a ton of stuff on sunday, like cutting up fruit and putting it into little containers so in the morning when i am getting myself and a 10-month-old ready, i can just grab a bunch of stuff and throw it in a bag to go.

I make my own version of Starbucks' Protein box: sliced apples, grapes, wedges of cheddar cheese, multi-grain biscuit, almond butter. Or you could just buy it from Starbucks!

I use a plastic thermos container for the boys and send all sorts of leftovers for their lunches. Often its rice and with some kind of meat/chicken/beans. They say the food is still warm at lunchtime.

I'll make some chicken salad on Sunday so H and I have lunch for Monday and Tuesday. The rest of the week it's usually leftovers from the previous night's dinner. I'm actually looking for some good ideas, too. Thanks, ladies
