Hi again
At DD2's 504 update meeting a couple months ago I mentioned that I would like to have her evaluated for an IEP, everyone on the team agreed so we moved forward and DD2 has been tested over the last few weeks. I received an email from her teacher yesterday saying that she qualifies for RSP and we've set her IEP meeting for next Tuesday.
I feel like I'm going into the meeting blind, I don't know on what basis she qualified so I'm not sure what accommodations to seek. I asked DD2 what the testing was like and if she struggled in any particular areas, she said she had trouble with memorization (ex. shown cards with pictures, named pictures, cards put down, had to rename but couldn't remember). Is it within my rights to find out why she qualified before the meeting?
Her current dx's: ADHD inattentive type (she is impulsive and fidgety but didn't meet criteria for the other types), GAD, ODD, and PICA. These were all dx'd by her psychiatrist. The results of the psychometric testing ruled out bipolar and schizophrenia (for now, they believe they will come about as she gets older) but the therapist/whatever her title is said that there was something schizophrenia related that DD2 seemed to be aware of and knew was socially unacceptable so she tried to keep it hidden. She couldn't describe to me what this thing was but said to keep and eye on her and bring her in for more testing if we still have concerns as time goes on.
Current meds: 1mg of guanfacine per day for the ADHD. So far we see improvement in attention span but she has begun to talk to herself A LOT more.
Anyhow, #1 - Can I request a copy of the test results before the meeting?, and #2 - Does anyone have a list of accommodations that I can look over?
In my experience the results meeting is just that. You will go over the results of the evaluation with whomever administered the test. You can ask as many questions as you want. Then after the results have been agreed upon, you will have an IEP goal meeting, in which you and the team go over the goals listed in the IEP. If you agree to everything you sign the IEP. Results and goals are two separate meetings.
I think it's best if you go over the results with the psychologist so they can explain everything. Then you move to the next step.

You can absolutely request testing results before the meeting. You will go over them with the evaluator at the meeting, but you can still go through them ahead of time. You may want to make notes about questions you have so that you don't forget anything. Good luck!
