It's race day in Indy and I definitely haven't had enough sleep.  Looking forward to watching the crowd go by and hopefully make some money by parking a few cars in my yard (trust me, it's a thing here).  Super glad I still have one more day off, too.

Good morning! I'm currently nursing a bit of a hangover. Had a ton of fun last night, though!

I'm supposed to have a date today. We're planning on going to a festival downtown. I haven't heard from him since Thursday afternoon when we set the day, rough time & where. Even though I texted him yesterday. So... Not sure what's going on.

I'm off to the NASCAR race with my dad, brother, and sister today. Race starts at 6 (I think) but we're heading out at 1 to do some pre-race tailgating. Right now I'm laying in the sun trying to get a little bit of color.

My mom and I are headed to a flea market. Then home and staying inside. It's going to be raining the rest of the day.

I need a kick in the booty to be motivated. I have a few work projects that need to be done and I keep putting them off. To no end.

I am going to attempt to finish one today but it's so easy to get sidetracked. I need to focus.

Last nights concert was fun! I am also nursing a small hangover.

I'm hunting down my favorite food truck today for some BBQ nachos, then headed to my house to hopefully finish painting the living room. BIL is bringing over a 12 foot ladder so I can reach the super high places that have been eluding me.

Sitting in the yard with my iced coffee. Don't really have anything much on the agenda today. I may drop by my mom's house if she's home to say hi and drop off my bunny cage so she can store it in her basement . Looking at it is making me sad and I have no place to store it here. Actually..it was hers to begin with..we had it for our guinea pigs years ago when I lived at home.

My folks just left to go to my sisters. We have our house back and it's quiet.

I'm watching an HBO documentary about the "Cannibal Cop" from New York. It's very interesting while being very disturbing at the same time.

I am so damn glad I'm off tomorrow. This morning, I tore the kitchen apart and cleaned ALL THE THINGS. I need to sweep and mop, but at least that room is done. Then I corralled DD and we organized her craft/activity closet, which was a wreck. Now it's all nice and organized and the door closes. Then I took her out to lunch (don't wanna mess up that nice sparkling kitchen!) and to the grocery store. She's laying down for a nap and I'm headed that myself. Then more laundry to be done, some floor cleaning and dusting. Maybe we'll pop out for a Redbox when we go to the park later, once it cools off.

We both spent yesterday outside and so I'm trying to give our fair skin a break today. I'm thinking tomorrow we'll go canoeing or biking or something. (shrug)

I planted some more flowers today. The zinnias I planted were getting eaten so I dug them up and planted some peonies. They are so pretty. And I got a mixed pot of flowers for by the front door. It's beautiful! If I knew how I'd PIP. Lol

This morning, at 3 am, I learned "turn around, don't drown" is serious shit. Car got swept away, I had water up past my steering wheel. I had to climb on the roof of my car and wait for almost 2 hours for the fire department to come get me. 6 fireman had an inflatable raft tethered to a tree they put me in and got me out of the flood waters. It was a long ass walk in waist high water. I feel I need to make them brownies or something. And for the 911 operator who stayed on the phone with me the entire time.

Well, I turned and then my car was washed down and off the road. Water was waist deep. I had to get on the roof of my car.

It was 2 hours because another car was washed into a ditch down the road they were rescuin first. Thy have a boat thing they have to tether. It was really dark, so they couldn't see me. The 911 guy had me flash my phone light a few times so they could figure out where o was and how much rope was needed.

It's been raining here most of the month and I have so far spent most of the weekend sleeping and watching tv. I should be cleaning my house and I'll probably go in to work tomorrow to try to catch up.

I am a huge Jimmie Johnson fan ( see number in my screen name!)... I just groaned when he spun out, but there is still a lot of race left! Have a great time. That track is on my bucket list!

I am so glad you're okay. How scary that must have been. I would have been crying like a baby. Take care of yourself and relax. I am sorry that happened to you. Were they able to find your car? Not that it will be of much use now.
