LOL, I was maybe 18 or 19 when I started getting gray hair, and it was enough that I needed to start coloring at around 24-25. I now (age 34) have to color my roots every 3 weeks or so because my hair is dark brown and my roots are white. I stick as close to my natural color as I can, but sometimes I go a shade or two lighter or darker.
It's definitely genetic. My mom was completely gray by 30, and she has always colored to hide it.
I probably had my first stray gray hair in my mid 20s. I'll be 33 in a few days and it's reaaalllly starting to come in now. I'm going to start doing something about it this summer, I am vain. Maybe some high/lowlights.
My mom's whole family went white or gray really young so I'm actually lucky. My mom was completely white and has been dying it since her mid 20s.
I started plucking stray gray hairs in my early 20's. My mom went gray very young, so I knew it was just a matter of time for me. By 33 I felt the need to start coloring the gray. I went to the salon for all over color twice because I wanted to let the professionals do it. Then I tried a box of Clairol Root Touch Up on my own and loved it. I would take that little box with me to a deserted island. I use it every 5-6 weeks and it is awesome, totally fool proof. I do let it sit for 30 minutes instead of the 10 that the instructions suggest.
I was 27 standing in the bathroom at law school. I was able to hide my few grey hairs by highlighting for many years (I'm blonde naturally but a dingy one lol).
After I had the girls I went very, very grey so I now have to do an elaborate single process to cover the grey and highlight on top of it to get it to be the color I like. It sucks. But at 33 yo I am not ok with just going grey!! I felt awful about myself every time I looked in the mirror and saw all the grey. My temples are entirely grey and the rest of it is rapidly getting there
I noticed my first last year after C was born, so 26. I find one every now and then but I just pluck them out. If it gets to be a lot I may consider dying to cover, but we'll see.
It's going pretty streaky now at 30, and the dark hair with pixie cut doesn't help. I've had grey hair growing around my template since I was 20 though.
22. I still don't have a ton at 33 and my hair is petty dark brown. I will start coloring again soon because they greys annoy me. They are in the front mainly but all over now.
Several of my friends my age with very dark hair have had some grey for quite a while. By 40 most everyone I know seems to have quite a bit of grey except a few lucky folks.
I started getting some around 37 or 38, but the kind no one noticed but me. In the first 6 months after DS was born, they multiplied exponentially. I don't know if that was a coincidence or sleep deprivation aging me more quickly or what.
I have no plans to start dyeing my hair until I have time to keep up with the maintenance, which is definitely not now.
noticed my first at 29. Didn't become really noticeable until the last 6 months or so (I'm 40) and I just started dying it in March. I dye it my natural colour.

28. But now (at 33) I'm finding a lot more. I've given up plucking but they're not noticeable to others even with my brown hair. I've never dyed my hair so I'm not looking forward to doing so when the grays get more noticeable.
I don't dye it, though. I'm lucky in that it's just streaks of grey throughout my hair instead of all over grey, so I've been asked several times if the grey are actually highlights.
I've been dying it since I was about 23. mostly close to natural, always at home. My mom didn't let herself go with the grey until she was 65, which sounds good to me. I mean, I get the rah-rah feminism, but most women I see who let themselves go with the grey early kind of look rough.
My hair is really dark so they are pretty noticeable. Luckily I just started noticing a few along my part at 35. There's not enough yet to worry about coloring I don't think, I've never dyed or highlighted my hair so I'm not too anxious to start.
