I love Pampers and can't stand Target diapers. I buy them if they're on super sale and then I remember why I dislike them so much. Then 4 months later I feel like I should try them again and buy them when on super sale and then remember why I dislike them so much. It's a cycle. Pampers4lyfe!
We're home from a long weekend at the lake. I thought DD had dance rehearsal and a soccer game tonight, but dance is tomorrow night and soccer was rained out so we had a low key night. The kids have been up before six every day of vacation so we put them to bed at like 6:30 tonight. I am tired lol.
I think to really drop the last bit of weight I have to lose, I'm going to have to cut back on the booze . I don't know if it's worth it lol. So for now, I'm savoring a strawberry cream ale and it is delicious.

DH has been so supportive of me getting back to the gym. He doesn't care about the physical benefits, but know how much I love it and it improves my sense of self.
I feel blessed. Tonight after I got the baby down, he put DS1 down, cleaned up and just sat down to do work after a 12 hour workday.
Ugh! I just dug through 3 boxes and 2 tubs in my closet and then went to the basement and dug through 5 more tubs of clothes. No Lands End suits anywhere! Where are they?!? I do NOT want to spend another $200-300 buying suits that will support me. I just want to find the ones I already own! In the past 3 years I've gone from a size 6 to a huge pregnant lady and back to a size 8. We also sold and bought a new house in that time. Lots of clothes have been packed, unpacked and purchased in 3 years so it's proving very difficult to find 4 relatively small items.

I guess I cloth diapered just long enough to fully embrace the ease of even the cheapest of disposable . Hell, I'll even buy the BRU brand.

Pre-kids we spent about $75 a week on groceries with a $50-$75 eating out weekly budget. He doesn't want to adjust for the toddler's food. In his defense, we bought $10 of pouches which are a hideously expensive snack and I do agree we should work on getting rid of them.
I'm going to make some egg salad for sandwiches this week. Mmmm.
ILs are under contract! They even got more $ than they anticipated, very close to asking price. But it's a contingent offer so we are just crossing our fingers that they are able to find a buyer.
I got a bunch of Sephora stuff in the mail today and I want to go play but that means I'd have to get off the couch.

The kids and I went to a baseball game tonight. It went fairly smoothly. I need to bring more snacks though. We got $1.50 hotdogs, soda, and juice boxes for dinner. $9.00 for the three of us isn't bad at the ball park. A did inform me that hotdogs were not a healthy choice. Lol.
I went to an ethics and social media presentation today and was inspired to clean up my fb wall. Some of the stuff I used to post was so ridiculous. Most of 2005-2006 will be hidden or deleted.

Ha. I went on a major stock up trip last week and spent $397.00. And I don't buy meat and very little dairy.
Russian eats what 3 grown men eat in one sitting. My kids are nuts about fresh fruit and I'm not going to say no to that. I like what I like. I like certain $$$ convienence foods because they're relatively healthy and dude some nights the fact we have dinner is a miracle so H knows better than to breathe a word...lol.
I then spent $42.00 on a fresh quick trip today.
Groceries are definitely our biggest house budget but meh...we're home all the time (3 meals most times) and eat out less than once a week-ish.
And now you've learned more about my grocery budge than you'll ever need to know.

We spend so. much. money on toddler food. I'm dropping $150-$200 a week, easy, at the grocery. And then another $200 or so a month on things in bulk like cereal, goldfish, string cheese etc.
Maybe just buy the applesauce blend pouches, they're a bit cheaper. Or you DH can try feeding a bowl from a cheaper jar of applesauce, while your kid attempts to do it on their own for a few days, and realize that pouches are worth whatever they cost. . It's a short stage, that's what I tell myself. Pouches that is. The feeding of the kids just gets more and more expensive. My personal favorite is the $6+ kids meal consisting of Kraft macaroni and a few apple slices.

I agree. I buy a lot of kid friendly stuff along with precut fruit and veggie steam bags because my kids are hungry all the damn time. I'm not about to start hacking apart a giant watermelon at 2pm when they think it's snack time...lol.
My MIL does have a large garden she happily shares so certain stuff that's freeze-able I freeze in kid sized portions and it helps. Some.
I've been spending $250/week on groceries lately. Loooool.
We always spend between 200 and 250. But I shop at Fortinos. I am sure if I shopped at Walmart or food basics we would save a bit. But probably not a whole lot.
I stretched out The Suit when I was pregnant last summer. I think I'm ready for a Lands End bathing suit. Which one do I want? Looking for something with coverage.
You guys, I found my suits!!!! Actually DH did. He found another box of my clothes in the basement and when we opened it up there they were just hanging out in all their cute pink Lands End glory!
And the best part is they all fit! I'm currently a 34G whereas I was a 34DDD/E before getting pregnant (and when I wore these) so there is definitely cleavage happening but I've yet to find a suit that doesn't do that. The lighting is weird and the two piece suits look huge compared to the one piece but they're all the same size.
Tonight was DD's last class of gymnastics. She absolutely loves it and is adorable when she's there. Every Tuesday when I pick her up from daycare I tell her it's gymnastics and her eyes get wide, she gives me a huge smile and yells, "NANI!". She calls gymnastics gymnani and then just shortens it to nani most of the time.
We're already signed up to try a gymnastics center in June but I just registered her for July and August community ed courses again. It's in the large gymnastics room at the local high school and the coach is fantastic with the kids. I'm a little embarrassed how much stuff we have signed up for this summer but it's all stuff she will thoroughly enjoy.
Speaking of grocery trips, I told DH if he picked up DS from school, I'd swing by the grocery store and pick up something for dinner. So I got food to make dinner for two nights. But my stomach hasn't been feeling well (thanks pregnancy) so I ended up having cereal and an apple for dinner instead. DH made a frozen pizza. Hopefully I'm in the mood for salmon or taco salad tomorrow, since that's what I got ingredients for!

We spent a crazy amount of time driving this evening. I went straight to DH's work from mine, we dropped my busted car at the body shop, get into DH's truck and went to his parents house and picked up his parents extra car to use while mines in the shop. Then drove to my parents house to say hi and see the kids for a bit. Now it's 8pm and we are finally home.
We are so lucky we have such helpful family that live nearby and we can take such advantage of them when we are in a pinch, lol.

There's a mom at daycare that I want to be friends with. I don't know how to go about this. I can't just leave a note a la @this!
Why not?!
from what I can see, daycare boxes aren't really used that much other than for invoices. I'd feel weird leaving a note in there for another parent, while chatting with our daycare lady. I don't know. I'd feel creepy!
I have no idea how much we've been spending on groceries. I just checked Mint and I suspect I've been very lax about categorizing things because there's no way that all of those Costco purchases were just groceries. I think we only spend $150 per week, but it could be more or less. We used to only go once a week, but lately it's been twice a week because we inevitably run out of something. Mainly bananas, since DD can go through a lot of them and DH requires one daily as part of his breakfast. But making multiple trips throws off the amount we spend on our regular weekend grocery run, so it's hard to keep track as we go.
My parents have been at my house for a week and will be here until Saturday.
My parents are completely flummoxed by normal toddler behaviors and chock-a-block full of parenting advice that involves my H and I being stricter and fighting every single fucking battle. In addition, Carramini has figured out that she can run all over my mom and all she and my dad will do is tattle to me/my H. I sometimes feel like I have 3 toddlers not 1.
Meanwhile, we still cook every meal, do all parenting related activities, and they do God know's what all day (they seem to be on the computer a lot). I wish, just once, they would say I am a good mom and that they are proud of me, but mostly it is just a lot of nit picking and telling me that Caramini is bound to be a juvenile delinquent.
