Those are terrible but I expected to see Isis up there too. Not a made-up name but an unfortunate one for 2014 (and 2015 and a few more years to come, at least).
These are all really bad, but Swastik? Like, oh, Swastika is too obviously nazi inspired. Let's do Swastik. Do you like Swastik Adolf or Swastik Hitler better, sweetheart?

I wonder if people who do this just like the way a name sounds and honestly have no idea what a swastika is. Sadly there really are people who are that dumb/out of touch.

Isis is a million times better than this list. Also I used to know a kid named Isis who was born in 2005ish.

I have a very distant cousin named Isis. She is 17, but it is still unfortunate at the moment.

So Swastik/Swastika is a legit Indian name with Sanskrit origins. It has an unfortunate translated English spelling for those living in 2015. It was an auspicious symbol in Eastern and other cultures for a long time before the 1930s.
I don't know why it is appearing on this list though.
I saw a young adult Payzley's bio on an office website recently and it took me a full minute to realize the pronunciation of that name. I this the office was located in the South.

It still weirds me out when I walk into Indian stores in NY that have flags with swastikas on them. I get it rationally, but the emotional me still reacts to it.

It's a nice name, just a ruined one at the moment!
For your reading pleasure, I present the list of names that DH gave me for DS2. He was 100% serious about them, though he composed the list while drinking whiskey and watching some war show on History Channel, so that explained some of these names.

See also: Katrina in 2005.
Yeah, fair enough. But I guess I find the two relatively easy to disconnect. (ISIS and Isis). We actually debated about Katrina in 2014 and still decided the association was too strong.
