Should I be concerned? I have a nanny scheduled to start next Monday full time. We have time set aside for tomorrow and Friday to get the baby adjusted and her set up with things in the house, of course you all know where this is going!
She called this afternoon about not being able to come tomorrow, she has to take her child to the dr, it's a follow up appt. She did say she would be here Friday and I stressed the importance of attendance as I'm returning to work on Monday and need to be able to rely on her.
So do I give her the benefit, I'm assuming she didn't realize that she previously scheduled the appt they called as a reminder and she wasn't able to change the time. I get that things happen and I felt good about this nanny but now I'm concerned.
ETA: Sorry, didn't mean to be mysterious. Yes, I would be concerned. But my gut concerns about people being unreliable have been spot-on lately, even though I wish they hadn't been.

Well, my nanny did this exact thing before she started because she had the opportunity to take a last minute vacation before starting the job. She did reschedule immediately for a time that worked for us both. She is still with us 7 months later and its going well, especially in terms of her reliability. So, I would give the benefit of the doubt this one time.
In our interview process, we basically told my nanny candidates that my H and I cannot miss work, we cannot be late etc. I feel like I could read by their responses to that phrase whether they understood the importance. My nanny was 30 min late for her second interview (to meet my H) but she texted and it was Sunday bus service so I understood. My h thought I was crazy for trusting her but she was An amazing nanny. Never ever late.
I would be concerned but given you return in Monday I would just watch it. I know you will have ton going on but did you have a second candidate you could consider and have start in a couple weeks?
