Dudes. The cabinets were honey oak with oddly sized/placed hardware, the walls were a hideous shade of pueblo brown, and there was shitty peel and stick tile. I'm replacing the countertops eventually when I have more money, resigned to live with these for now.
Can't wait until everything is finished. It's such a massive difference.
That looks great, I love the colors and hardware! I think the countertops work well with all of the other updating you've done.
We ended up repainting kitchen cabinets in our previous house and it was horrible - the previous owners didn't have a real working vent about the stove so there was grease caked on and it took FOREVER to redo them, never again!
Are the counters butcher block? They look nice to me. Love the paint color and the cabinets look great.
It's a butcher block wannabe laminate.
Then you totally need to paint them with the stuff that makes them look more like granite. Giani and Rustoleum both have products that would work for that.
It looks really good and crisp. Love the color. At least the counter works with everything nicely.
You might Google ardex over laminate. There are a bunch of tutorials online for making a concrete look counter by applying ardex feather finish over top. Super cheap too. I would have tried it out, but my kitchen was a total gut job.
