Tipping house cleaner?

We have a deep clean from a house cleaner scheduled tomorrow (for, you know, before the baby showed up, hahaha). She works for herself, and we'll be using her biweekly going forward.  We don't tip her, right?

(I tend to be a chronic over-tipper and over-thinker, so I don't want to screw this up on the first try.)

I did not tip in this scenario. The cleaning will be the best thing you ever did, I was so happy to come home from the hospital to a spotless home. I reallllly need her to come back now!

No we do not tip our house cleaner weekly. We did give her a gift at Christmas time. We will probably do the same thing again this year.

Best money I spend every month.

We are doing great, thanks for asking! A little bit tired of course, but she's growing like a weed, happy and healthy! Hope you're feeling well!!

Very timely. I just scheduled my first house cleaning , this person is independent as well and coming out Friday to give me a quote. I desperately need a deep clean with all this gross pollen.

What other questions should I ask? Are their certain things you will have her focus on or rotate from time to time?

We just have her do the heavy traffic areas, living room, bathrooms, dining room, kitchen, master bedroom. We don't have her do our spare bedroom or office since we rarely use them. My person will also do more if we need her to do so, we just have to let her know in advance.

I asked if they were bonded and for references.

Thanks. I was hoping the outside of the kitchen cabinets would get a good clean on the initial deep clean. But was wondering to ask if they could vacuum/clean out the window sills... but I could do that task too.

I want to hire a housecleaner to do a deep clean before the baby comes then come back after baby preppy arrives. Anyone have any suggestions in the Waltham/Newton area they can PM me?
