Where are you getting the food from? They don't have a to-go coffee box you can add on?
no, because it's technically before hours. We have a catering company and there's a contract that we cannot buy any food or drink outside of them. So I'd have to pay out of pocket AND find a place that is open around 4 AM.
So a Starbucks Traveler Box (or 2) is out? This is what I'd get for meetings in the past. If so, I'd even consider bringing a coffee machine, & making a couple pots. It's a pretty expected part of 'breakfast.' I'd guess you'll have some people who only want coffee, & nothing else
I've picked up Starbucks to-go boxes at 4:30am before. Hell, I might even get them the night before and reheat. Bad coffee is still better than no coffee. (And I'm not a coffee drinker either)

How long did you have to wait or did you preorder?
I preordered. It was a pretty large amount- like 4 boxes. And not every starbucks was open that late, I had to call around. So if you are in a place without a lot of options, that could cause a problem.
Will you have access to hot water at the meeting location? If so you could always grab a few boxes of Starbucks Vias and people can make their own coffee.
I'm hosting a breakfast meeting and the request states "light breakfast will be served". How bad is it to hold a "light breakfast" meeting, but not have coffee? Very, very bad. Can I get away with no coffee?? No. Please tell me they won't all hate me. They will all hate you intensely.
I don't drink coffee but almost everyone I know would freak out if there was no coffee at a breakfast meeting. I would do as others suggested a get a box from starbucks or whatever chain coffee shop you have near you.

I would go as far as saying coffee and tea should be provided at a breakfast meeting. I don't drink coffee but I need my caffeine in the form of tea. That said, coffee is an absolute must. More important than food. Most meetings provide coffee even when it's not a mealtime.
I don't gef where this meeting is being held? Your office doesn't have coffee? Why is it so early in the morning?
So if the catering service can't provide something, can you get reimbursed for sourcing it from elsewhere? Coffee at a breakfast meeting is standard. At 4am it's downright necessary.

Our time is better spent focusing our energy on feeling sorry for those poor souls who are being forced to attend this "fun" meeting. T&P, you unlucky strangers.
It really depends on your office. In my office, coffee is a must and it is typically the boxes of Dunkin' Donuts and don't forget the cream, the sugar, the fake creamer and three kinds of fake sugar.

but if it's before hours...how does the contract still prevent you from purchasing outside food? if they're not able to serve you...you should be able to buy outside food.
if that's really what is says, re-negotiate that contract as soon as you are able. that's just silly and nonsensical.

Does is really depend on the office? I think universally people expect coffee at breakfast.

One of my old offices had no coffee drinkers other than me.
I don't drink coffee outside of frappucinos, but I do know that in America, this is a death wish lol. I'd wager that most of the attendees would prefer coffee to food.

My understanding is that if she brings the coffee then she'll have to pick it up at 4 am, I'm hoping the meeting isn't that early. I vote box of joes from DD.
