Random minor vent.

Allie fell at school. She ripped her knees out of her new uniform pants. Some how she got a pin hole in her ice pack. It leaked blue in her lunch box. She just brought me her broken hair bow she unraveled . $25 for the pants, $15 to replace the lunch box and ice pack, $6 for a new hair bow. I am going to need deeper pockets at this rate.

Allie sounds a lot like me at that age. I had so many patches on the inside of my pants (to not show as much), soldered glasses and things like that. As for the ice pack, I had a few that were held together with masking tape before my mom just bought the hard plastic ones. She also started making my bows and would make repairs with wire to broken ones.

All good pointers! I am very crafty, but cannot figure out how to make bows. I kept the ribbon and clasp. I am going to see if my aunt can fix it.

Depending on the bow I may not be helpful either. Back then bows were those big poufy things as big as the kids' heads lol. She made them out of beads, shoe laces, balloons, and all sorts of things. She even bought a DIY bow making book.

Maybe put the ice pack in a ziplock just in case the lunchbag gets dropped again?

my mom didn't even bother with ice packs. I got PB&J sandwiches and chips.

They are allowed here. Jacqueline would starve to death with out PB&J. MH packs her lunches and it's his go to option.
