Our one cat LOVES this $2 cat nip stuffed owl from Dollar General, and our old cat that was put down last year LOVED a catnip stuffed frog. H has the frog sitting next to a pic of said cat, and I think the other two know they aren't allowed to touch the frog.
We started buying our first cat some toys, then stopped once we realized he only wanted to play with the milk cap rings. Our second cat loves toy mice. They both adore the ones that have a toy on a string suspended from a stick.
LOL My cat likes to play fetch with milk rings. I throw them, he runs to get it, brings it back, I throw it.....that shit could go on for hours. He thinks he's a dog.

My cat will play with a toy if it has catnip in it. He had a little red crab toy he loved. My SIL got him a toy recently and he likes to play with that. It cracks me up to see him walking around with this pink stuffed toy in his mouth. He also will randomly swat at a tennis ball they have in their house.
His favorite are hair ties. At our last house he would open the drawer they were in and we would find them all over the place.
One of our cats loves toys, the other is a fatty fat fat who barely likes to move but will occasionally go after the laser pointer. Non-fatty also loves to shred the fuck out of any paper that is in his reach, so we have to make sure we don't leave anything important on the coffee table/let anything fall on the floor.
He also chases his tail like a moron. He'll fling himself into walls trying to get his tail. We make fun of him a lot.

my cat does this too! He won't fetch anything other than milk rings though

My cat loves a new "cat toy" for about one day and then she is over it.
I cut those hanger strings off of some clothes, tied them together and waved them in her face and she went apeshit. She growls at it she loves it so much. I'm done spending money on toys!
We have some soft balls that they love. They'll pick them up in their mouths, and place them somewhere random with a "there, that's where you belong" look, and walk away to get the next one. The other day, we had a little collection of five of those balls in front of the bedroom door (we don't let them into the bedroom - I'm allergic - that we discovered in the morning). They're kind of like nerf material - got them at PetCo. And they take little bits out of them with the constant placing, so the carpet has little bits of green, yellow, orange, etc all over it. The Roomba's working full time.
Question for you older cat owners. Our older cat (about 14) loves to sit on paper, cardboard, anything like that on top of the carpet. She doesn't complain about the carpeting, but if there's a flat place for her to sit anywhere she'll seek it out and plant herself on it. Is this something to do with her claws or feet, or a comfort thing, or is it just her preference?

When I had cats, they all did this. They loved cardboard the most.
