This is a good question! I hope I find one in time but it really depends when I can get appts between now and the IVF. I'll be looking for stories here.
Yes, plenty of people switch late on the Bump when they realize their doctor doesn't support their birth choices. Choosing early in your pregnancy is a great time.

I switched when I was 2 seconds pregnant... well, 2 days after my BFP. I knew I didn't want to go back to the OB who delivered DS. I asked if they were taking new patients, and when they said yes, I told them I'd just gotten a positive HPT. They saw me later that week to confirm the pregnancy.

I moved to a new area since DD was born and I didn't seek out an OB until after I knew I was pg. I actually waited until like 7 weeks to call for an appointment and they didn't have any problem with it. I think I had to wait until a week later than when they normally see newly pg women, due to their busy schedule, but that was no big deal to me.

Plenty of people move around OB practices. As long as they're accepting new patients, it shouldn't be an issue. Just keep in mind that some practices won't do a first pregnancy visit until 8-12 wks if you're otherwise healthy with no prior issues with pregnancy.
I switched at 27weeks. That's pushing it for some OBs and waiting later than that will severely limit your choices. But switching in 1st tri? No problemo.
I set up a consult and met the OB in his office sitting across a desk - I don't want to meet anyone the first time without any panties on. When I decided that I liked the new OB, I had his office call my old OB and they transfered my records. However, when I started going to my old OB I was newly pg and had never gone to her before. I did not have any records transferred from my old-old-OB to the old-OB. I only transferred records the 2nd time because I'd already had tests and bloodwork done for that pg.
I switched at 11 weeks with my second preg. I hated one of the drs in the practice, and of course he was the one that managed my labor (and was a prick throughout). Even though I liked my dr, I didn't want to take the chance that I would be stuck with him again.

I switched when I graduated from the RE at 8w and already knew it was twins. I wanted someone who delivered at the hospital near me with the highest level NICU but was also close to my house, so we made the change.
I have switched doctors numerous times at all different stages of pregnancy...
One, who handled my miscarriage, and we weren't happy with the follow-up so we switched to another doctor in her practice. After I saw him, I went in for a follow-up with another of their colleagues, who I loved, so we switched to him. Then we moved when I was about seven months pregnant, so I obviously needed someone else. I had several appointments with that next office and despite even flying down just to see the doctor before I moved and my asking repeatedly, by 36 weeks I still had not yet met the actual OB. I was starting to panic about that so I called another practice and they did kind of an emergency review of my records to see if they could take me (they agreed to) but I wound up sticking with the other one. I swear I'm not normally that much of a pain in the ass...
