I was sitting on my bed and there was a centipede crawling on my comforter. UGH.
I need to clear my head today and reconnect to myself, so I feel like I need to get out of the city. There is a waterfall about an hour away from me that I think I am going to go explore today. It looks like there is an overlook and a cute general store in the area, too. I might stop by the library before I head out to get a book on CD to listen to on my way there.
How is it Tuesday? Ugh. I had in my mind all morning it was Wednesday.
I have $20 to last me til Monday (pay day). Budgeting fail, big time. Summer camp expenses are no joke.
Bosses are considering raises here. I submitted a comprehensive package for all staff (which includes me). I hope we have decisions by Monday. They have been draaaaagging with it.
I told BF I needed a night alone last night - no kid, no BF. It was glorious. Leftovers on the couch and old Hoarders episodes all night.
I'm sorry glitzyglow. I hope you have a good day of relaxing and refreshment. The waterfall sounds nice.
Work is sucking more and more. Yesterday I found out they are hiring another person to work in my group. I'm confused because I don't have enough work and I'm so bored, yet they are bringing someone else in? I wouldn't be surprised if they are looking to lay me off and he's my replacement. I am not cut out for corporate America man.
mp - How was your interview at the crack of dawn this morning?
I am getting my eyelashes tinted for the first time tonight and then getting dinner with friends. Can't wait!
I have plans pretty much every night this week and then go to Dallas friday morning. I always seem to either have no plans and lay on my couch all night or have all the plans ever. Maybe someday I will find a balance, but for now im enjoying it.
Day two of work from home and I still love it. This flexibility is incredible. Going to a late morning barre class. Love that I can get a morning workout in but not have to wake up at the asscrack of dawn. I promise to lay off this stuff soon I just can't believe what a remarkable change this all is the quality of my life.
Oh. bl post reminded me. I want to get eyelash extensions. Anybody have experience with that? My biggest concern is how long will they last?
My best friend gets them regularly for about the last two years. They last her about 4 weeks or so before they start falling/breaking off, and she needs a fill. You aren't suppose to sleep on your stomach/face, rub your eyes, or use a lot of eye makeup and remover because all of that will damage them faster. They have also caused damage to her real lashes and cost a lot. With all that said she absolutely loves them. I have contacts and my eye doctor scared me out of it because if one gets under a contact when you are asleep (I wear night and days) it can cause a lot of damage to your eye.
Thanks bl. Hmm.. I sleep on my stomach. I don't want to damage my natural lashes. They cost $20, but I have a coupon for $15. I think I'll try it and see how I like them. I'll be sure to take before/after pictures.
calle28 they are only $20!?! For the price I would definitely do it. Everywhere I have ever seen is around $100 for a fresh set and about $40-60 for a fill

Maybe its a brand new studio just trying to get their name out there. That just seems crazy because they individually apply an extension on each lash and it takes at least an hour if not longer, so that is why it is usually expensive.

I miss it around these parts! Things have been insane at work since my old boss left and my new boss started. Between covering both jobs, getting new boss up to speed and a bunch of projects going live all at once, it's crazytown.
I wish I could say I've been keeping up on reading posts, but I haven't even been able to do that.
I, once again, didn't get a job I really wanted. It's at another company in a different industry, but in the same field. But, the silver lining to this is it was because they heard of another opening in their dept that they think I'd be much happier in and better suited for. So now I'm waiting for it to officially post so the HR recruiter can put me into the pool. Lucky me, I get to skip to the front of the line and come back for an on-site interview right away! I don't have to get through 3 rounds of phone interviews, including a Gallup one. Score!

calle28 I've had lash extensions for years. I've never seen them that cheap....I pay $60 every 2 weeks or $75 every 3. To be done well, they're time consuming (and therefore pricey) so I'd be a little leery of someone doing them for such a low price. Are there any online reviews of their work maybe?

It's at a nail salon that also does waxing. Is that a negative?

Not necessarily. Most places that do them are multi service. But I think there are some places doing them that haven't been properly trained in it, like one person goes to training and then just shows everyone else how to do it. The place I go to is a spa that does facials, waxing, airbrush tans, makeup application etc.

Yikes, that would stress me out - but you sound ok?? Do you have a plan in place?

Not really. I am pretty stressed out. I don't know what I'm doing with my career. It's kind of depressing.
Okay, I will heed everybody's warning and look on Yelp for a place with great eyelash extension reviews. Thanks!
I have a great product for you - you won't even need the extensions! It's called Y.ou.ni.q.ue!
LOL Just kidding, I don't sell that stuff (or use it). I'm just imagining the responses I'd get if I posted on FB asking for lash extension recommendations. I have some rabid eyelash ladies on my FB.

That shit is rampant on my FB too. I made a joke on a friend's status about Tammy Faye Baker lashes and she was like oh the 3D mascara? I have that and love it! Errrr ok then. I know she wouldn't wear clumpy mascara so she must apply it well but some of the before and after pics I've seen are so bad and have turned me off from ever trying it.
My boss' wife just walked in and said its 111 outside. Seriously??
I'm annoyed with my rotary group. They want us to sell tickets which I'm having trouble doing. It's an outside dinner here mid June which could be 114 degrees! Plus their expensive. They want us to sell them or we pay for them which is $390 ($65 a ticket). I'm not doing that. I think that's absolutely ridiculous!
Roomie and i are taking the boys to a concert at a wine bar tonight thats kid friendly. Should be fun!
