Had brunch with a friend I haven't seen in a while. And now I have to pack. Headed to Chicago just for one night. All day meeting tomorrow and then back. But I'm tired! And we're going out for a nice dinner tonight. Hopefully I can sleep on the plane.
We're getting ready to go on a hike. I have to run to the bank to deposit a check and get sandwiches (not burgers, if you read ML). I have peanut chicken in the crock pot for dinner. Nummynum!

I went to my friends weddig yesterday and I was so shocked. The wedding was stunning and so classy. And soooo many girls were in short, short club dresses, or boobs hanging out, or rompers with bpobs hanging out. Is this a thing? I guess maybe because they were younger but I'm young too and I would never. It's crazy.

I went to a wedding in January and same thing! The bride bartends so a lot of her young coworkers were there, and I couldn't believe the dresses. They had on stuff I'd wear to Vegas - tiny, tiny dresses with bare legs in a snowstorm! It didn't help that I was pregnant and feeling huge.
I had to buy new pants a couple months ago thanks the extra 25-30lb I have put on. Well I wore a shirt the other day to work and the whole armpit ripped.? I bought some new shirts for work. I wish I could skip summer this year and just dress in sweater dresses and tights!

Maxi dresses and wrap dresses. Old navy. I don't wear real clothes to work (scrubs), but on weekends I have found love for maxis because I don't do shorts. You may be able to get away with them at work??

DH and I had our usual breakfast group this morning. Just as we were leaving the house, he mentioned that he wasn't feeling well "at all." Normally I would feel some sympathy for him, because he's not really one to whine about feeling bad. BUT, he does this almost every time we're going somewhere and he wants to get home in a hurry to get back to whatever project he has going on. We live in the boonies, so whenever we are out somewhere, I try to fit in a bunch of errands before heading home. Him saying that he isn't feeling well is basically a pre-emptive strike against doing anything except breakfast and heading straight home. Unless there is something that catches his eye, then suddenly he's feeling a little better, but just enough to do whatever caught his eye. I just ignore him, and carry on with whatever errands I had planned. I mean, I'm just dropping stuff off at Goodwill, not shoe shopping. Take a chill pill, DH.

I worked today; the day went quickly, which is always good! My coworker had a complaint about her and I tried to make her feel better. She came to me later to thank me for lifting her spirits.

YESS! Old Navy online has petite maxi dresses! I have a few of them, along with 3/4 sleeve light sweaters in every color. I also have a few petite skirts from Old Navy. I'm only 4'11 so everything has to be short! lol Oh and a little TMI, but since I found the monistat anti-chafing cream, I have been able to wear more dresses and skirts!

I love that anti chafing gel! I use it as a primer and for its actual use while in dresses!

Had a pretty good day today, but the transition period from nap to no nap for dd1 might kill me. She wanted to hang out and play, and keep dd2 up, and I just wanted to take a nap since I stayed up too late last night.
I love the cool evenings here but I rarely go out in them because I'm fighting with the kids to go to bed.
I was a little bummed today and was fortunately able to meet up with a good friend and talk things out with her. We've known each other for 33 years and I value her opinion on things. She listens and gives advice without judging, which I really appreciate. I left in a much better mood.
Took a test over 8 chapters in my micro class tonight. Score won't be available until after 11, I'm torn between setting an alarm to remind me to check it and saying eff it till tomorrow. Wine says eff it.
We were in Verizon, just standing there, and in walks XH and his GF. It was super awkward and weird. XH and I acknowledged each other but it was so very odd. Ugh.
Cherry on top? Today is 2 years with BF. Second encounter this month, sometimes the universe just needs a laugh, I guess.
ETA: RamblingRose, is your town freaking out about the tropical storm? Houston is on high alert. I'm dreading the rain so very much bc my backyard can't handle 10+ inches they're forecasting.
