He has an ear pit in one of his ear lobes. Basically he has two tiny holes that are connected and forms a canal from one side of his ear lobe to the other. It gets infected and seems to constantly have drainage. He was born with it but the ENT said it is something completely random that happens during fetal development. It's not a major surgery so he should be back to himself in just a few days. The hardest part is going to be not letting him have any bottles after midnight tonight!
I'm glad it isn't something major. Not giving him bottles though does sound hard. A friend had to do that with her 6month old who needed a certain CT scan. Nothing after midnight and his appt wasn't until like noon. She tried to get him to sleep as much of the day pre-test as possible. Maybe your little man can take an extra morning nap or something.
