DS is 6 months old and I'm thinking of getting a new carrier. Does anyone have a recommendation for one that faces out? I was thinking about the lilebaby Nordic carrier:
We have an Ergo and I'm not really a big fan of it. I feel like it's really bulky, and the straps are right at DS's mouth level so I am constantly stopping him from chewing on them. I also think he'd really love to face out, as he's constantly whipping his head from side to side trying to see things in the Ergo. Thanks!
Facing out hurts your back way faster with an older, heavier baby. I'd also recommend doing a back carry. You can buy chew pads for the Ergo straps, fwiw.

Facing out is not good for your back or for baby's hips and stuff. If you are just doing short trips you could try a sling or even the ergo on your hip. They do make chewing pads for the ergo(maybe called drool pads?)

I don't front carry in our Beco often (if at all) for some of the reasons the pp's mentioned, but one of the things about our Beco that I love is the versatility: it allows both rear & front facing carries, as well as backpack and hip carries.
That said, I have an Ergo which I love equally and think that the two are comparable in a lot of aspects, minus the ability to carry forward facing.

The Beco Gemini allows them to face out, though I've tried it twice and neither one of us could get comfortable with it. Once he's a bit older, I'll try a back carry, but for now, I just let him move his head side to side.

Try it now! I started back carries at 6 months in the Ergo (with help to get him in then, but I figured it out quick).
It's so much more comfortable, and much easier to get things done if he decides to be Mr. Clingy.
