i eat everything. i'm currently on a no-dairy diet, but it's for bjl, not me.
and i'm also allergic to mango/peach salsa from costco. i don't know what's in it (i've read the ingredients), but *something* about that salsa makes me swell up. it's happened 3 times, so now i just don't eat it.
I am allergic to oranges. It's super weird. It's not life-threatening...I don't think, but I get hives all over. No orange juice, no mimosas. I have similar issues with large amounts of grapefruit, lime, lemon...and cherries.
yup! I only know about it because H has it. It's not life threatening, but it's annoying and his mouth gets itchy if he eats certain things. He is technically allergic to birch, and so fruits/nuts that have the same enzyme make him itchy.

wait, is this what's wrong with my H? haha. he can't eat melons..watermelons, cantaloupe...a few other fruits...he gets itchy throat.

that could be it! apparently that would be "Ragweed: melons, zucchini, cucumber, kiwi, banana". It doesn't mean that you're allergic to ALL things in that category, for H they have slowly developed over time.
ETA: also, cooking the fruits breaks down the enzyme, so my H can't eat raw apple, but apple juice/pie/sauce are all fine. However, this doesn't apply to nuts (he's allergic to almonds, but cooking them doesn't help)

I'm allergic to walnuts, hazel nuts (even hazelnut hot cocoa), and brazil nuts. My ears get itchy, my throat feels itchy. I have always had those symptoms from walnuts even when I was little. The other nuts are relatively new. A few years ago I grabbed an almond out of a mixed nut bowl. A few minutes later I had this weird feeling like I had too much caffeine, and every time I inhaled I felt like an elephant was sitting on my chest. I took a benadryl but that didn't help. We went to the walk in clinic and they gave me a nebulizer like they give to people with asthma. That helped and now I have a prescription for an Epipen. Those suckers are expensive even with insurance. Now I have to be extra careful when I eat treats in the staff lounge.
Sad face. H says it's just melons in that category. I swear there's more fruit, but he's telling me right now that it's just melons.
it's probably still that allergy - H used to only be allergic to one fruit when it started, but it's slowly expanded over the years to include other fruits/nuts. and he's still not allergic to all of the things in that category. it could be something totally different, but I guess you'll know if it does start including other things!
