Why is it so hard to get an RSVP when you send out invitations? I just don't understand it. You get an invitation in the mail, decide whether or not you can attend and let the host know. Simple, right?
Am I just delusional in thinking this isn't a difficult thing?
I sent out DD's birthday invitations about 6 weeks before the RSVP date (7 weeks before the party) and I still have a couple of people that haven't responded. They have until Sunday but I know they won't because people suck at RSVPing!
I know it was a little early to send out a birthday invite but since it's summer, I thought better too early than too late. These are are local people with kids.
Like I said, just a vent, nothing I can do about it except start calling on Monday morning. I thought it was better to vent here rather than posting the definition of RSVP on my facebook status ;D

Maybe I wasn't clear, I sent the invites out 7 weeks before the party with an RSVP date 1 week before the party. I didn't expect responses 7 weeks out but I would think with just over a week before the party, people would know if they are bringing their kids.
I will call everyone Monday, since the RSVP date is Sunday. I know this is petty & why I am venting here instead of IRL.
I would have held onto the invite for a few weeks with the thought that I would know a few weeks in advance whether we could attend or not.
But in that time, I would lose/misplace the invite.
7 weeks notice for a bday party is a looong time. A wedding would be marked on a calendar and even a bit of travel would be expected. A bday party is too casual for me to earmark that far in advance.
I recently got a wedding invite with a stamped envelope, and no return address. grr
I get you on the summer thing, people's summer calendar's fill up fast. If I get an invite and nothing is on my calendar for that day, I am likely going to go. I like planning ahead
I think a lot of people are very phone shy these days. I find evites to have the best RSVP rates
