Anywhere here have a Tula? I do way more back carrying now than I ever did with my oldest. In fact she was never back carried. I'd like something comfier if possible but not sure it's worth an investment. Opinions?
I have an ergo and love it, but I also haven't tried the tula but I do know that toratoratori and mrslefty have them and seem to love them. How old is your baby? I never got around to back carrying J with the ergo just because I am far to pregnant to think strapping on the carrier sounds like a good idea lol. But I have definitely been thinking about the toddler tula for #3 once he is bigger and the girls will be about to old for a stroller.
She just turned one and is 17 lbs. so she's little but I wear her pretty often. I do like the ergo just wonder if something would feel better around waist and hips
There are a vast number of ssc between the ergo and the tula though, I woukd highly suggest joining the south sound babywearing group and checking stuff out in the lending library. I'm currently on the hunt for a kp with koolknit so...I'll be looking forever and ever I am sure.
Oh and dana86 the toddler tula is still...a year out probably...from fitting babylefty He's little though. A normal sized child might fit around 18 months?
Thanks guys! Ill see if I can get a picture soon carrying her. I'm usually by myself using though so might be difficult. I can ask my toddler to take it . I Also struggle pulling it tight and feeling gross as it looks reserse of a muffin top (if that makes sense). Will have to see if there is a north sound baby wearing group.

There is a Seattle group For the muffin top get a comfort tummy. Seriously it's awesome, her shop is on etsy.
Nothing helpful to add. But, I have an Ergo, I only use it occasionally and in front carry. I tired back once & E was not in the mood.& I couldn't figure it out. I'm not savvy. E is almost 2, 25 lbs.
You really shouldn't use toddler sized sscs with kids who haven't met either the weight requirements or height.
The sides of the carrier should be at least knee to knee for the proper support. You can have the knees extend further than the panel, but not the other way, where they don't even meet the edge.
Standard Tulas will generally fit up until 45lbs and work for the majority of kids until they're in preschool.
Yeah my little one is petite too so I'm sure a standard would be needed in my case

You could always just try jennlins out and sub one of her kids in to see if you like how the fit is and everything of just the tula. Then if you like it just order a standard one instead of the bigger one

Good thinking! Baby coming soon? Hope you are feeling well! Did your other babies come fast? No way I could have a 3rd to ever see how fast they come
jamer I am hoping he comes soon. I am 41 weeks wednesday and have an apt tomorrow so we will see what the plan will be. My girls came early and the other came on her due date so this is the longest I've been pregnant. Im not uncomfortable, but the heat is brutal and I get the "pregnancy irritable" really bad early on and towards the end, so id be happy if that went away as well lol

Wishing you a quick and painless as possible delivery! Hope he comes on his own soon!!

I mostly love my Tula because he pattern has sentimental value to me. I don't really notice a significant difference between it and my Ergo. I also haven't back-carried yet - I feel like C is still too little.

So basically, I'm no help. Sorry.
Girl back carrying is *the* shit between 100 and 9374729291 times more comfortable than a front carry

Agree. Plus you get your hands free to actually do stuff!

*shrugs*
I like being able to see and snuggle her. And last time I tried to get her in a back carry, she got upset.
Maybe we'll try it again, but it's not going to be my go-to.
