Sunday randoms

Good morning!  Not much on the agenda today. Yesterday it poured all day so we did the grocery shopping and even trader joes was empty! 
My mom dropped a bomb on me yesterday.  When I planned my vacation for mid July, she said she'd be here in NY (splitting time btwn here and down south) and agreed to watch my cats. Well, guess what?  It's now 2 weeks away and now she's decided she has things to do down south and doesn't want to come back home to NY yet.  I got upset and my mom is just not getting it. 
I have one friend in the area that may be able to do it, so I will ask her.  I do recall she's going away sometime in July too...  I don't want to board them or remove them from home because they get scared and don't adjust well to that. I also don't want a stranger here when I'm not.  I guess if all else fails, I can ask the woman upstairs, but I don't know her very well and I feel funny about it.   not cool, mom.

I thought the weather was supposed to be crappy today, but now it's nice out, but I already had my heart set on doing absolutely nothing today! Way to ruin my laziness weather!

@blueyes623 - That sucks! I hope you can find someone else to watch your cats. Would the woman upstairs be able to take your cats to her house to watch them?

abcdefu-I don't know my upstairs neighbor very well and feel uncomfortable asking her for anything at all to be honest. 
RamblingRose-I am really pissed and disappointed that my mom would pull this.  She also recently let her best friend down by promising to come up for something and then backing out last minute.  The thing is...they usually drive back and forth due to my mom having a 65 lb husky...but she actually has privileges to fly for free.  Yes, 100% free and unlimited. So, yeah.  This really sucks.  I asked months ago and she agreed with zero hesitation.   :?

I had a date with a guy that I've known for like 3 years on Friday. He's asked me out before but I've always declined. I'm really not attracted to him but he's so nice I thought I'd give him a chance. There were a couple things about him that got on my nerves, but I thought maybe he was just nervous. He calls me today to tell me he got back together with his ex-girlfriend yesterday. Lol ok whatever dude

Fortunately I didn't really like him!  But weird 
with the poison ivy it must be from walking in my neighborhood...I go through a deserted road with lots of trees and brush and weeds, etc.  I don't walk through it but I think you can get poison ivy without actually touching it.  Fortunately its a very small rash

I'm loving Tahoe. I want to move here. It's so gorgeous. Damn if only I was rich. Getting some work in before the wedding festivities later today. I'm so excited for my friend and can't wait to celebrate.

Today's been a productive day. Went out for breakfast this morning then did a ton of work in the backyard so it's usable again. Also gave the dogs baths. Tonight I'm grilling out so im looking forward to that, too. Definitely a nice way to spend the day before returning to the office on Monday.

It's raining and cool here so it's a pretty lazy day, except for teaching my class this morning. We may go to Nordstrom to return the Marc Jacobs diaper bag T bought me, one of the handles is coming apart already! Thankfully he found the receipt.

I go back to work tomorrow. I'm a little sad because I'll miss her, but she'll be home with her daddy tomorrow, then my MIL on Tues and my sister on Wed. She'll be watched by family until Sept when she'll go to day care. I think that will make me really sad at first.

I'm home from work and my head is aching most likely from sinus pressure. It is gorgeous outside, but the pain medicine doesn't seem to be helping my headache. I just want to go to bed!

Tomorrow is my Friday, thank heavens! Also, I never heard about the job (they said I would hear last week), so I hope I hear something tomorrow. A part of me thinks they offered the job to someone else and the person took the weekend to think about it.

Excited to have most of the new furniture picked out for the new apartment. Now I just need to purge like 75% of my stuff and I'll be good. Anyone have any good purging tips??

This afternoon and tonight will just be writing writing writing. Hoping to get one more OITNB in too -- I can't believe I haven't finished it yet.

I broke down and turned on the air conditioning today. It was the first hot day when we've been home all day and I couldn't resist anymore. But June 28th is pretty good.

DH and I went to coastal Oregon for a pirate festival. Yesterday, the weather was awesome. However, I did a horrible job with the sunscreen, and half my chest and much of my boobs are sunburned. Apparently I only sprayed the top half of my chest, and totally missed the tops of my boobs. I do have a white line between my boobs. Not from sunscreen, but from my corset top pushing the girls up and out.
Our friends that got us into pirating have started selling pirate garb and accessories, so we go to some of the festivals they're selling at to hang out with them and kind of act like advertising for them. There weren't a lot of people dressed as pirates, so DH and I and our friends got asked quite a few times to be in pictures with kids and families. There was a group that looked like 3 families together, and we did pictures in different combinations. The one guy was using a regular camera, holding it away from his face to use the screen instead of the viewfinder. There were a few times I was sure he was zoomed in on my boobs. Not that I can blame him, because they looked great (corsets are AWESOME for your boobs, even if you think you don't have any), but I'd love to be a fly on the wall when the rest of the family was looking at the pics.

I agree with the bolded (as someone who has sold them, and wears them. I play pirate at the renfaires)
