Get it, girl!
I had my longest run yet today and my stupid run app must have frozen. Boo. Oh well, I still won't feel bad about the delicious Indian food I'm having for lunch!
I'm going to Maui for 10 days starting Friday!! I should probably start thinking about packing!! Not surprisingly, between that and apartment hunting, no work is getting done this week. Hooray!!
H just got leave approved to go to MD with me for Drs appts this fall! We've been waiting and waiting to hear back, but he can go this time It would have been fine if my mom went again, but he needs to hear this stuff first hand.
Eta: and yes, I could go by myself, but when you're flying to see a dr you really want someone else there to help you listen.

That's great that he can go.
No need to justify him, your mom, or anybody going with you. As long as the person with you is not going to derail the appointment with a whole bunch of questions and histrionics, it's actually a good thing to have someone with you, so you can have two sets of ears.
So can you really not do any exercise after a vaccination or is this a German thing? My tick vaccine (I'm blanking on the name in English) is tomorrow and biking there would be so much more convenient but they say no exercise at all afterward. Anyone heard this? It would be about a 20 minute ride home uphill. That should be fine, right?

I've heard it for similar situations. Exercise lowers your immune system just a little bit for a short time. For healthy people I wouldn't think it's enough to make a difference, but maybe it is?

I thought I heard the dog throw up in the middle of the night, but I didn't see anything when I went to look. Unfortunately (for DH), I found it as I was getting ready to leave.
The poor dog is a mess. He is itchy and his butt is bothering him. DH took him to the vet last week when he was scooting, but she didn't see anything wrong with his anal glands. We went back to adding coconut oil to his food, which I hope will help his skin. He has these patches on his sides where the hair is thin and you can see his skin is irritated.
I now live with a diva. DH has lost weight and is getting ripped. So he's taken an interest in his appearance and created his own Pinterest board for clothes. That has led to him shopping and buying nicer clothing. For 2 days in a row he has sent me OOTD pictures. He looks great and I don't have issue one with this. It just makes me giggle a little.
Whatever you do, keep him away from S&B, H's posting ootd does not go over well, lol.
bimbi284 - so jealous! Maui is one of my favorite places on earth. Have an amazing time! (Please snorkel for me if you can! Unbelievably fun)
For the first time in more than 2 weeks, I have literally zero plans today. I'm excited to see what unfolds!
I still have hair, which surprises me. It's definitely starting to come out more, but I'm trying not to pull too much at it yet because I really like my hair for now. I am SUPER happy I cut it so short though because it's really not bad pulling dozens of little hairs out, rather than feet of longer hair. Blech! Plus, I've even been COLD a couple times with less hair, even though it's been in the 90s and we have a tiny ac unit.
I made DH get bagels and I'm not ashamed at how excited I am to eat one this am. Lately I've been eating whatever I want because I'm feeling like life is too short. Did you guys know that Blizzards are amazing? Haha why did I never try one before?!?

I've started a tradition that if I've met my hours by the last day of the month, i take myself out to lunch. I left last night still needing 3. However, i got in this morning and had something in my inbox that i get to log 3 hrs for. Lunch out for me!!
I've done the first two days of C25K, and I'm feeling really good.
I was going to wait till the fall to start, but said fuckit, and I've been doing it on the track at the local Y. I wouldn't say I'm a speedy runner AT ALL, but I'm doing it, and it feels pretty OK.

You know I heartily approve of this tradition!
What are you thinking of getting?
Unsure. DH works at the same company and he's coming along with me so i have to take his opinion into consideration. Probably either a Greek diner type place or a Mexican place.
The bus drivers have voted to go on strike as of 3am. We only have one car. Fuuuuck.
Also, my bar dues are due today, and I haven't paid them. Oops. Also, they are FOUR HUNDRED AND NINETY DOLLARS. That is some right bullshit.
Crap! I thought $254 was bad!
Yep. WI is one of the most expensive in the country. It's insane! I have to be barred for my job, but my job won't pay for my dues or my CLEs.
If we'd stayed in DC, I would've waived in there. It's $140/year and no CLEs. Alas, we moved and it strikes me that I should remain barred where I live in case an opportunity comes up and I want to work elsewhere.

That's insane. My job pays my dues and my CLEs. I just have to front the dues and get reimbursed. It sucks.
At least since i don't practice, i don't have to join a county bar association, too. Those are almost as much as the state dues.
I don't actually think it was required while i was practicing, but they sure made it seem like it.

Fortunately, my agency has at least made me do a ton of trainings that I've been able to get approved for CLE credit. For two reporting periods in a row, the only CLE I will wind up having to pay for is the 3 hours of ethics.

oh, shit...
I just realized I'm supposed to skip days between them. OOPS. No wonder I was kind of dragging yesterday.
