I think I would or at least call the nurse helpline if you can. I don't mess around with eyes. Poor thing, I hope she gets some relief soon (and you too!)
I can't decide. There are four people in front of us and nobody has been called yet ... If we aren't going to be seen for another two hours, would I rather just take her home to bed and get her seen somewhere first thing in the morning?
Stay. I was at the ER the other night. We were there 2 hours, it was quick once we got back there. If something is wrong you don't want to feel guilty about a delay in treatment. I hope it's nothing serious.

Glad you're there, I would stay & be seen.
You mentioned swelling but you didn't say anything about discharge. All of my experiences with pink eye have been puffy eyes & tons of goopy discharge. If it's just swelling I would concerned that might be something else.
Can you call your doctor's office/nurse hotline again while you're waiting? If they get back to you before you get called back, you'll know whether to stay or go home.

Sorry you had such a rough night. Hope she feels better soon. Not to second guess that nurse, but that seems like a really odd reaction to eye drops. How is she today?
