I love them both.
Doing: friends are coming over for the Poulsbo 3rd of July celebration, and we're hoping to go for a long hike on the 4th and watch fireworks from somewhere up high.
Wearing: I don't have patriotic clothes, but I'm hoping my new sandals get here soon because my feet are hot and I'm feeling too old for flipflops. I put them on a few weeks ago and my feet were like "LOL, NO."
Eating: burgers and chips on the 3rd, packed lunch on the 4th. My main concern is french onion dip. Lots of it.

Doing: Going to a friends block party.
Wearing: I haven't even thought of it. Maybe a maxi skirt and tank top. Oh, or a dress...
Eating: It's potluck style...I'm thinking of bringing Vermicelli shrimp salad or baked potato salad. And maybe strawberry/blueberry flag decorated lemon bars or sugar cookies.

Doing: Going to Bainbridge to spend the weekend with my sister's family and my parents. We'll likely boat up to watch the Poulsbo fireworks, then maybe be in downtown Bainbridge for the 4th parade.
Wearing: No clue. Something cool because it is supposed to be HOT!
Eating: I think H and my BIL are going to smoke some ribs and I'm bringing some salmon over. My sister still hasn't figured out the menu completely, but it will be a casual bbq.
I'm working on cutting down the jungle that is my backyard. We have two weeks left to tackle it and it's going to take two weeks at least to get it done. No plans yet for the evening.
Pulling weeds in the hot sun is not a fun time hopefully you get to relax in the evening!
Doing: Going to my parents on Whidbey they are in Lagoon point so all the rich people on the ocean front buy a lot of mortars and light them off and we just watch from their fire pit. Though I have mixed feelings, my sister is a vet with PTSD and I think my family forgets sometimes so I always worry about her on the 4th.
Wearing: I have a blue and gray striped hi low skirt, a white tee and a RWB sweater when the breeze kicks up
What are you doing? It's actually a friend's 40th birthday so our friend is throwing him a party at her house in the early afternoon. That's until maybe 3pm or something and then we'll probably just go home. I haz teh olds so I don't really like dealing with the painful traffic to go somewhere to watch fireworks. Even though this year I don't have to work the next day so actually could stay up late. We'll see what H wants.
Then probably just a strappy tank top. I have a new black and white palm leaf print sleeveless shirt, that's about as Luau a shirt as I have, so maybe that.

Trying to hit two parties I guess, which is awkward because they know each other and I don't know why they could just co-host and pick one location (both have views of the fireworks). They're H's friends so whatever he wants to do. Not sure what to wear yet...
Doing: hopefully sitting at home trying to stay cool with all my little monsters I'm hoping to convince H to go get some sparklers for the girls at least so we can do those once it cools off a little and gets dark.
Wearing: whatever is comfy and cool
Eating: I bought some pork ribs and stuff for a pasta salad but we will see what the situation is on the actual day, might be something a little more simple unless H wants to help out.
Doing: some friends started inviting themselves over for the evening of the 4th for our view of the fireworks so we're just letting it grow into a party
Wearing: I was gonna wear a navy dress that I have in my closet, but I saw a bunch of suuuuper cute red/white/blue maxis in a boutique window on my run this morning. May need to go try one on.
Eating: lots of bbq! and more importantly, drinking: homemade margaritas. Very American, right?
