For the last few weeks I have been second guessing our choice in baby name pretty hardcore.
The name we have picked out now is Quinn Marie. But, suddenly, the sound of it with our last name (our last name starts with a C, those on FB will know) is driving me batty.
And on a more ridiculous note: I somehow missed the fact that John Edwards and his mistress call their daughter Quinn. And the mean fat boyfriend from Cat in the Hat (shut up, I have an almost 5 year old that watches it a lot) is named Larry Quinn but the credits have him listed as Quinn.
AND, what if it becomes MORE masculine and less unisex in the next few years resulting in lots of boys being named Quinn and she's miserable? <-- I realize my brain worked overtime to arrive at this.
My husband is open to considering other new names but chuckled at all of my reasons. I love the name Naomi but he seriously vetoed it because he said boys in high school will call her imoan....I'm still rolling my eyes.
And the other was Margaret (family name) and call her Maggie. So, I need suggestions. Or just tell me to STFU because she is coming in a few weeks.
I love the name Quinn, and although I believe its origins are masculine, I have always regarded it as feminine.
One of my favorite books when I was like 13 was Princess Nevermore, and her name was Quinella and called Quinn. I would totally name a daughter Quinella, but it sounds ridiculous with our last name. The nickname could be Quinn or Ella. But, I'm book nerdy like that.
I don't have any other suggestions : ( but just wanted to say I love Quinn.

I really love the way Isaac and Naomi sound. But if H can't get on board with that then I guess Quinn it is because I think Maggie comes in behind even Quinn.
Quinn is feminine to me even though it is unisex (yet more masculine). I wonder if people will assume we have to boys when they see our kids' names on paper. Not that it matters.
Maybe it is the middle name that needs revamping. Any middle name suggestions?
What does your last name sound like? If you don't mind. It's hard to think of anything not knowing the way it souds. Do you have any women in your family with names you could use as a middle name?

It is Italian. Ends in ella, and is long. Like 10 letters long.
I like Quinn a lot, I think it's normal to second guess your choice as your due date gets closer. I wouldn't worry about it becoming masculine, I think it will actually be one of those names that the girls take over. I like Marie with it, and no one will ever see her middle name.
My daughter's name is Harper. My husbands's deployment buddy ended up naming his son Harper. They were due at exactly the same time. So I worried that I was naming my daughter a boy name.
Harper works for my daughter. She makes that name look good. And I'm sure your daughter will do the same with her name. I think it's a beautiful name.

Thank you for all of the feedback! We are going to keep a few names holstered and decide after we have a chance to skype and he can see her and look at her for a while.
I just know if we go with Quinn, we need a new middle name. So I'll be on the lookout for that.

I like Quinn, don't think it's masculine. Even I think of Quinn medicine woman, and she's badass.
Marie as a middle name is awesome. My mom and I agree!
But I do like Naomi, even though it's biblical (as an atheist, I'd personally stay away from biblical, but have no problems with others using it). Actually, it's one of my favorite biblical names. Would never have thought of that nickname.
I don't like Margaret, sounds so old, but my bff from high school and beyond was Maggie (yes, Margaret given name), so that makes me somewhat like it b/c she is awesome. If it were me, though, I'd just name the kid Maggie. I'm opposed in general to giving names that you'll always shorten.

I love Quinn. I think its adorable. Margaret was on my name list, too. I love Maggie.
I entered Isaac's name into nymbler and here's what it came up with: Leila Grace Miriam (LOVE this) Naomi (haha!) Isabel Elise Charlotte Leah Rebecca Elizabeth Anna Nina (love) Hannah Catherine Amelia Marina Abigail Cecelia Camille/a Emma Ella Aurora Penelope Delilah/Delia Jemima Priscilla Lucy Lydia Gretchen Stella
There were more, but they were mostly biblical names like Bathsheba and Zipporah.

Coincidentally, I met a little girl named Stella Quinn at the football game yesterday. I thought of you. It's an adorable name, but would be too much with your LN. I think the only middle name I can come up with is Elise. I thought about Quinn Elizabeth, but it sounds too much like Queen Elizabeth. I don't really mind masculine names for girls. My name is a form of Charles.

Dammint txrgr took my Quinn Elizabeth. I suppose that means Quinn Victoria is out, too.
I like Quinn Marie. Nicole and Brianna were my "go to" middle names but I don't think Brianna would work with your last name or Nicole with Quinn as a first.
I went to baby names middle name generator and made up an Italian last name ending in "ella" (Fontanella if you want to know) and it came up with Kirsten, Jessica, Marissa, Bailey, Alexis, Savannah, Samantha, Sydney, Makayla, Harper (yup, Harper popped up) and a plethora of others I liked significantly less.
But then it also came up with "Quinn Lexus" and "Quinn Princess." Granted, this was after I'd exhausted most other options.

Betty, that list rocks. And I love you all for the input
We added Charlotte Mae to the list. And H suddenly has his heart set on Aubrey Quinn. Idk. We are tabling it for the next few weeks and discussing it via skype once she is here. Which will certainly drive my obsessive-planner personality insane but, I'm trying to be as understanding of his needs/wants when it comes to feeling as involved as he can be since he won't meet her until February.
