Hi ladies! How was everyone's July 4th? Mine was great, the fireworks display on the beach was awesome. I just finished up getting my hair done (highlights and cut--the usual) and I feel so much brighter and fresher. I'd love to try some chunky streaks of a fun color like fire engine red or blue, but I'm kind of scared. Is there anything sort of temporary (besides hair chalk)? jigsymp?
I'm not sure about "temporary" other than the stuff you get for Halloween or chalk, but the pink I had in my hair was semi-permanent, so it washed out slowly. Some hair takes it better...MP uses the same stuff, and her hair didn't fade nearly as much as mine did. But anyways...we use Pravana Chromasilk Vivids. Maybe you could try the pastel line, it wouldnt be bold, but it wouldn't be as noticeable either.
Had a fun 4th of July. My uncle's pool is heated, and was 83 degrees. DDs were like fish and spent the majority of yesterday in the pool. Fireworks were ok. We were kinda far from where they were blowing them off. I like to be close enough to feel the booms!
Today we're relaxing poolside at my mom's. I do not want to go back to work tomorrow
I just changed my hair and while the cut isn't my favorite (but it was necessary to get rid of all the deadness), the color is awesome.
It's fun! I like it. I've never been anything but blonde. I'm naturally dirty blonde and I highlight it. I just identify as blonde and don't think I'd ever dye my hair solidly a different color whether it be brown or pink or whatever. That's why I kind of thought about a bottom layer or some chunks of something fun, so it would be a little something different, but nothing super bold. Also, my job...while there isn't a policy on fun colored hair in the hospital, it could be frowned upon.

I've also used the Chromosilk to add some color to my hair. I used various combinations to try to achieve a teal-green color. The stuff is great, and the colors are great, but (at least in my hair) "temporary" doesn't mean washes out in a week. It slowly fades, and in my hair, it lasts for at least a month, probably more like 6-8 weeks. I'd try some Manic Panic first, if you're not sure what color you want. Or maybe even the spray-on color you get at places like Party City. You can also try clip-on sections from somewhere like Claire's.
ETA: Don't know why I quoted Jigsy, I should have quoted @blueyes623.
I did more cleaning today and started on my job binder for my replacement. I'm currently working on my monthly task list and it's an interesting process. I just "do" my job so coming up with an itemized list of tasks is humorous. Only four more days til I'm done.
Currently loving the cleaning projects I accomplished this weekend. If only I would keep it up all the time.
TR, J is an introvert as well. In the beginning it was really hard for me to process and I took it personally. We are definitely differ in the way we need personal time and space and we've had to work on it.
I worked yesterday and then immediately went out to celebrate the 4th of July. I didn't get home until 2:30am and then I got up and went to work this morning. I am exhausted.
I did drag my poor tired body to the gym after work today. Small victories.
TR I logged in just to talk to you. You should get my cell number and text me so I don't have to log in next time.
TG is the same way. That was our hiccup last week, he didn't know how to communicate his need for alone time in a way that made sense at first, he sucks at the communication sometimes. And then I was like "oh, that makes sense." It stung a little but I get it.
And I get it even more because after a whole weekend with group activities and multiple friends, I am at home crying because I am so drained & exhausted and just kind of sad. lol. I am too introverted to spend that much time around people. He can do it in small doses and be ok - I do it in small doses and end up at home with a bucket of tears.
So... I don't know. I empathize with you. On both sides of the situation.
Honest question, why do you guys do that to yourselves? It's ok to say no (says the person who turned down every invitation this weekend because I needed to be alone)
I made bananas foster pancakes for brunch. Moved my throw rug in my room. Had pizza rolls for dinner. Best thing about today was being able to have all the windows open and not have to use the A/C. The weather this weekend was awesome!
