Pretend you're in a focus group sponsored by major retailers. What is irking you?
(Other than poor quality/materials for the price point. That's pretty universal these days, unfortunately.)
I would spend so much money at the Limited if their tops were designed for women with hips. I get such rage in the dressing room, but maybe I'm better off.
Hmmm, I think a huge pet peeve of mine is things are too short. Especially from places like Forever 21. They have gorgeous dresses sometimes but they always come up way too short on me. I'm not that tall (5"7). I suppose that's how they save money on fabric.
Constant sales from places like Old Navy bug me too.
Also I have a long body and button downs are always too short for me to tuck in to my pants so I can't wear them.
Vanity sizing sucks too. I envy how men seem to be able to buy stuff without having to try it on first because it's all about it he measurements. Even within stores this is a gamble. I can't just pick up my usual size at the gap and expect it to fit properly, Kwim? Every pair of jeans has the potential to fit differently.
Inconsistent sizing in the same brand drives me absolutely insane. Even in men's clothing now!
I also feel like clothing from places like Limited used to be so much better quality. I'll stick with shopping at Target for my clothes if they're only going to last one season, thanks.

I hate buying clothes in Europe. If I buy jeans here I have to hem them because there is only one length. (BTW I am 5'6 so I am super short) And it is so hard to find clothes here that fit. I am about a size 8-10 but when I go to my local H&M the majority of the jeans that they stock are the sizes 0-4. WTF?
And they only have sales twice a year and there are no coupons.
This is more of an annoyance with my body type than clothing, but it's so hard to find shirts that accommodate small bust and hips. My short torso is partially to blame as well. They are always too tight around my hips and then loose in the bust. Going a size up means the shirt is then a shapeless box.
A little bit of stretch is good in jeans and pants, but I can't stand when pants start out one size at the beginning of the day and feel two sizes larger a few hours later. I'm looking at you, Gap.
I hate the trend of sheer flowy shirts bc they require layering and are a pain to nurse in. The alternative seems to be short boxy shirts which I also dislike. Also the color trends lately of mint and coral etc are pretty but look awful on me. I look good in jewel tones which haven't been in style lately apparently.
Sheer fabric Inconsistent sizing (so jealous that my H doesn't even try things on - he just knows it will fit) For Canada especially -lack of variety. Anybody with something nice or interesting on bought it in the US
Right now I'm in maternity clothes though so that's a whole separate set of frustrations. Why does the vast majority of maternity options make me look like a preschool teacher? The prints are so bad. At least it keeps me from any temptation re: spending $$ on clothes that I will wear for 6 months.
It's so hard to find good pants in short length! I don't want to pay for my pants to be hemmed every single time I buy a new pair.
Same, but long length. We have all kinds of sizes to fit different widths...why do they think everyone should wear the same length? At least offer short, regular, long! If they don't, I don't even bother looking. I know there's no way they'll fit...and I'm only 5'9"!
Also, shirts that have a wide neck opening (not boatneck, just wide). Again I do not want to wear two shirts to hide my bra straps. I am fat but short and apparently don't have the shoulders of a linebacker.
White shirts that aren't transparent. I am still looking for a good white shirt that fits that I don't need to layer a tank top underneath.
Vanity sizing. Every store seems to fit just a little different. How can I be a size 4 in one store and a size 8 in another? Even shoes this season seem to be doing vanity sizing.

Pants without functional pockets. I don't want to have to carry my damn purse everywhere at work when all I need to bring is my office key. Dresses with pockets are like the holy grail. I bought one once (ONCE!) and whenever I got a compliment on it, I was all "IT HAS POCKETS!!!"
I'd like to not feel guilty about how my clothes are made, but that's a big old supply chain mess, I realize.
Not clothing, but I'd love to see more cute shoes in wide width. I hate having shoes that I thought fit okay until I realize that they have a permanent nub from my little toe.
Nothing with sleeves. I was talking about this with some friends recently - it is so hard to find a nice work dress with decent sleeves. Everything is that dreaded tiny cap or just sleeveless - and in some occasions I just don't want to do sleeveless but am also not wanting to have to layer a cardigan or blazer. And it seems that if I do find something with a real sleeve it is then super short, or has a really high slit, or some weird cut out in the back, or some other random issue.
Also the length issue - I hate how short dresses tend to be. (Work dresses particularly.)
And like rondonalddo - I want more options in a wider width for shoes. I have awful wide feet and it is so hard for me to find shoes that fit, let alone nice looking ones.
