When you go up a size in pants it only gets bigger in the waist and not the legs. That is the last place I need pants getting bigger. All my weight is in my legs.
I wish women's pants were sized like men's and we had a larger variety of lengths instead of P,R,T.
Vanity sizing.
I have a VERY short torso and I find shirts too short sometimes. I have no idea how someone with a regular length torso or a long one finds shirts that aren't midriff.
Sleeves are too short. So I end up buying tall and the neck is too low and I have to wear a tank underneath.
Clothes just don't fit right and everyone I know complains, so who they hell are they fitting.
God the leg issue is annoying. I find it gets worse in shorts. Expecially now that I am pregnant I can't even wear the shorts I bought, but they aren't too small in the waist/belly area, just the legs. If I go up to wear they fit my legs they fall off.
Boxy shaped T-shirts that are short. I don't even have a short torso but if I put my hands in the air, the shirt shows my stomach. I don't like that.
Cheap fabric....what is it with Gap and Old Navy T-shirts that after a little wear and tear, I start to notice little pin-holes in the front? I have 3 tops with tiny holes in the front that are going to the Goodwill, they aren't very old.
I'm not a huge person, but it would be nice to not have to buy a size larger than I normally wear just so I can avoid super clingy tops.

Currently my big irritation is a TON of tops (and dresses) are not work/bra friendly.
PEOPLE. I don't need to wear a freaking strapless bra 24/7. Also, if I'm wearing a shell/cardigan, I want to be able to take the cardigan off and still be work-appropriate.
Ugh, the sale stuff. We can thank Kohl's for that since they've been wildly successful with that model. Other retailers moved to mimic it, especially those in financial trouble (Gap).
I'm also really bored with the clothing out there right now. So many drab colors and boxy shapes.
Narrow shoulders in general. I have broad shoulders for my size, so in order for them to fit, they're huge in the rib cage and look sloppy.
I have the opposite problem--I need shoulders to be narrower;). A seamstress told me that me maternity tops might fit me better and damned if she wasn't right. Too bad plus size maternity shirts without rouching on the sides don't exist.

Omg don't get me started on maternity clothes. You're right, the are cut sooooo narrow in the shoulders. I hated every minute of maternity clothes.
I just need half an inch more fabric near the third button of all button down shirts. If I size up, bag city. I have disproportionate boobs that have only gotten worse with nursing.
Did you guys know that some women have large thighs and butts but narrow hips? Because the retailers sure as shit don't seem to.
I would prefer not to have my waistband huge and crotch sag just to get pants that fit my thighs.
I have the opposite problem. Big hips, but skinny thighs. If something fits me in the legs, I can't come close to getting it pulled up all the way let alone buttoned. And if it fits the hips, it looks baggy in the butt and thighs.
1. Lack of cotton in clothes- I'm not a fan of the rayon blend stuff that starts to pill. Give me a nice weight cotton that does not require a tank top/cami
2. Drab colors- I don't look good in pastels/shades of white/gray or whatever is out there these days. I like bright, bold colors and I'm not finding those out there at some stores
3. Plus size underwear- if such a large % of American women are overweight, where do they buy their underwear?? We all know that cup sizes above DDD are nearly impossible to find in stores, but what about undies? I can only find my (new, thank you very much DS!) size in a handful of stores and only in brief style. I'd really not like my underwear to come up beneath my bra band!
I hate that when stuff shrinks, it shrinks upward and not inward. So I end up with these too short, too wide tops that could not possibly be flattering on anyone.

OMG is agree with so many of these, except apparently I am alone in my liking of cap sleeves. I like my arms? They are freakishly long though, so long sleeves never reach all the way. Sweaters are terrible for me, and my shoulders are too broad for most button down blouses, like waft you'd wear with a suit.
Vanity sizing is out of control. If I am wearing a small or XS, what are the actual small people wearing??
I'd like to not feel guilty about how my clothes are made, but that's a big old supply chain mess, I realize.
Not clothing, but I'd love to see more cute shoes in wide width. I hate having shoes that I thought fit okay until I realize that they have a permanent nub from my little toe.
PDQ: I actually worked for a large clothing mfg once and wholesale customers (ie ko.hls etc) are actually grading their suppliers on sustainability now and it impacts how they purchase. In addition, a lot of companies realize the importance of cleaning up their supply chain and have entire departments devoted to this, typically called "corporate social responsibility". My company had this, and they focused primarily on labor negotiations with factories to ensure safe conditions and fair wages, never any child labor, stuff like that. It was fascinating and nice to know they truly cared about people not just the bottom line.
The flimsy clothes, yes. I was so mad that these pants I bought at Banana Republic a few years ago kept splitting at the crotch after just 1 wear. The first time they exchanged it after I threw a hissy fit. But the second time, rather than accepting their crappy quality and exchanging it for me again, I had to go through a lengthy process of having the pants sent to a tailor for repair and what not. Because I needed them ASAP, I remember driving to some random place where an Asian man dressed in tailor-garb answered the door and took my pants.
Why are high waisted pants back? No!
Also I kept my mouth shut, but I so wanted to tell my 13 year old patient that I used to have a dress with the same fabric and print of the romper she was wearing today. In 1993. :-# I know that doesn't have to do anything with quality or make or cut of clothes, but still, I would prefer to not relive the clothes and colors of the early 90s right now.
See through t-shirts and butt gapping on jeans. Why can't us adults get those nifty elastic pull tab waist bands? Being 5'6" doesn't make me a damn giant. Why is everything too short?
