MIL is our nanny. She feeds DS 3 times while I'm at work, nearly always 4 oz at each feeding, so 12 oz total.
She read today that a 3 month old should be eating around 32 oz per day.
I generally feed him 3-4 times while home, but am breastfeeding and don't know how much he takes. We're trying to decide if she should increase his bottles. He always seems satisfied and has gained weight just fine with every pedi appointment, though he hasn't had one since I went back to work.
We're a little concerned about over feeding and him spitting up (which he is prone to). It has also seemed like he gets fussy when he eats too much. On the other hand, we don't want to deprive him and will happily give him more.
DD2 is 3 months old. She eats 3 or 4 oz bottles when she's away from me.
The few times I've had her at a sitter all day so far, she took 4 3oz bottles over about 8-9 hours, so 12 oz total. Sounds like it's in the range of normal to me. (She also gets spitty if she has too much to eat.)
DD1 ate 5 or 6 oz bottles every 2-3 hours at this age. One of my friend's kids did 7-9 oz 4x a day by 3 months. There's such a wide range of normal. :-)
It sounds like he's eating a pretty typical amount. Mine took 3 5 ounces bottles at daycare (didn't start till 4 months) and nursed 3-4 times. If he seems satisfied, he probably is.
I think I saw 19-32 oz is a good range. Mine drink 27 oz a day and have been on that for a long time. I EP. They were drinking around 100 ml per bottle at that age but now get 130 ml. I wouldn't worry about increasing unless he seems hungry but he is getting plenty.
That sounds normal to me. At 3 months, C was drinking 10-12 oz while I was at work (I was away from him 9.5 hours). Sometimes he only drank 8-9 oz. He usually ate more in the evenings and at night on those days though. He's 7.5 months now and still only takes about 12 oz on the days my mom watches him, but he's also eating solid food at meals now.
Mine had 3-4oz bottles all along, every 2-3 hours from the day they started getting bottles until we bottle weaned. Was sheathe reading about formula fed babies? I've never heard a bf baby needing that much.
At that age she ate 4 3oz bottles in about 9 hours at daycare. She's up to 4oz bottles with no plans to increase. My pedi said she should be eating around 25-30oz a day at that age, and her at home feedings were sufficient. I fed her first thing in the morning, 2-4x between home and bedtime, and a dream feed.
