I just finished the third book in the Throne of Glass series* and immediately went to download the next one. DH is out of town, so I'm binge reading. IT'S NOT OUT UNTIL SEPTEMBER 1!!! NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!
What do I do now? No, seriously, DH is out of town three more days, what do I doooo?!?! My book club meets next weekend and we're reading Sonya Sottomayor's biography, but that seems like it might be kind of dry after TOG. Plus I'm thinking of bailing this month because the meeting it eats into the little time we have to camp this summer. I've heard great things about God in Ruins; I have a bunch of kindle firsts I can check out; there's a new Syephen King (always a winner, but it's a crime novel and I don't love those); or I could just binge watch seasons 2 and 3 of Orange is the New Black. Thoughts?
*I highly recommend the Throne of Glass series. The reviews describe it as Game of Thrones for young adults, but it's more like GOT for those of us too stupid or busy or impatient to keep everything in GOT straight. It's well written; has good pacing and character development; lots of drama, action and romance/bromance; it's an "epic" but not so complex and dense that it takes a lot of concentration. I ended up giving all three books five stars, and I'm stingy with stars!
Ooh, that's the worst. I usually go for brain-candy after binging on a series. Preferably good writing, but something easy and undemanding as a palate cleanser. More YA, maybe?
