Buy a full size adult one. It will seem big now, but the kid size ones are a waste IMO because they get outgrown so quickly. My kids have have 40 degree ones from L.L.Bean because we don't do any camping outside of summer.

My dd has a PBK kids one she loves. It has a animal pillow head on top. She loves that part. She likes laying on it early Sat mornings for watching TV. We don't camp and it is not intended for that. It's more for sleepovers and hanging out at home

Oh we won't be doing ANY camping. So I guess I don't need to look at temp ratings?
If it's for indoor use only, then I would buy one of the cute cheap character ones your kid likes and buy a better adult bag later on. I have fond memories of my Strawberry Shortcake sleeping bag that I had as a kid.
Target had some decent Colman ones for kids that were not expensive and did not have characters on them. We bought one for M and he loves it. We bought A's at rei, because she and I were camping.

If you're willing to spend the money, L.L.Bean has some cute kids bags. But like I said, they won't last through middle school for most kids because of the length.

I'd get a 40 degree rated bag for indoor use. Otherwise she'll get too hot.
I think Coleman sleeping bags from Target or Walmart are perfectly adequate for sleepovers. If you want nicer, I'd go with LL Bean.
