talk to me about brass.
Is it coming back? I ask because I'm looking for chandeliers for the bathroom reno, and I'm seeing a lot of brass. Like, a lot more than the token piece here and there.
Please say it's not making a huge comeback (or that trends aren't leaning that way), and and that our slow and steady de-brassing of the house isn't futile.

Son of a BITCH. effing brass.
Ok. *breathing*
I guess our dining room chandelier is that antiqued brass, and it looks more brown/weathered. But the bathroom we're doing a gray/blue, white and chrome. Paint can change relatively easily, and we went with white tile (except for just a little blue-ish accent tile), white cabinetry and chrome fixtres and hardware.
So we're thinking chrome sconces, since they'll be right next to the sink hardware, but possibly a brushed nickel chandelier because 1) there are more selections in that as opposed to chrome, and 2) we figure since it's up high, it will be ok that it isn't shiny and exactly like the fixtures. Our designer kind of flaked out the past couple weeks and hasn't sent us any ideas, but I'm hoping that chrome and silver is classic enough to not look dated in 5 years.
Yes, it's coming back. I think it's more on trend than say brushed nickle at this point. I'm a fan of antiqued brass or matte brass like booby mentioned.
I hope so. Our new to us house is chock full of it and I can't even begin to think about how much money and time it would take to change it out. It really doesn't bother me too much.
I think what you have planned for your bathroom sounds lovely, and of course you can pair chrome and brushed nickel. I also don't think the silver metals will be going out of style any time soon. No worries!
