Bummer! It's even worse when you buy a nice case and it still breaks.

I swear by Speck cases, in case you want to buy a new one after you repair your phone. My husband and I have used them on our current and previous iPhones and have miraculously never cracked them, even though we are really rough with our phones.

I've heard that you can get it replaced at the apple store. I can't remember if if costs $30 or $80 but worth looking into if it's shedding shards.

I have no idea! I luckily haven't had to deal with it. I have a 3GS which I think is harder to crack. I got the info for my H. He still hadn't fixed his but it's only about a quarter of the back that's broken so he just keeps a case on it instead.
Wouldn't hurt to call and ask. Maybe even call apple to see if they can accommodate somehow.

We just replaced SO's, you can get them for $10 on eBay. Multiple colors too.

I've replaced FIs FOUR TIMES. Luckily you can get them cheap on Ebay. Most of them will come with the tiny screwdriver you need to get the screws off too.
