I'm a little confused. Men are dogs for not dating her, yes? That's what the Watts person is saying?
If dudes aren't dating her because they don't wanna mess with three kids period point blank, I that's preference. But, if dudes are automatically rejecting the lady b/c her kids are adopted and/or "foreign" she needs to find a higher quality of man to date.
“You just never know what’s been done to a child before you get that child,” he explained. “What kind of sexual abuse, what kind of cruelty, what kind of food deprivation, etc., etc., etc.”
Are we seriously using the same logic people use to not get a pet at the shelter to talk about adopting children??
I can, however, see not wanting to get into a relationship with someone with three kids if that's not what you want in your life.

Eh, they're doing her a favor by self-selecting, really.
“You don’t have to take on somebody else’s problems.”
I'm sure Jesus would have found this advice useful BEFORE the crucifixion.
FTW.
Everything he said is the opposite of Christ's teachings.
I delayed coming into this post because I was thinking about my sister, the abuse she suffered as a baby, and the toll it took and continues to take on my parents even now that she is 31. They wouldn't change it for the world, but one does have to think hard before offering a home to an abused child. I'm not convinced my parents had the appropriate parenting skills themselves, no matter how huge their hearts were/are.
I was hoping the douchebag was coming from a similar perspective. It was so much worse than I could have imagined.
“So, you’re not a dog because you don’t want to take on that responsibility,” Robertson added. “You don’t have to take on somebody else’s problems.”
Silly me, Pat. All this time when I read Jesus' words about the Good Samaritan I thought he was endorsing taking on someone else's problems. That silly Samaritan paying to help heal that poor man. I'm sure Jesus meant to say that he shouldn't have taken on that responsibility.

It's a really good thing Jesus took on our problems at the Cross and didn't have Pat's attitude...

Right. If you don't want kids or to be a stepfather, okay.
But what Pat Robertson here is saying is that first of all, he won't want to be a part of the "United Nations," which is extremely racist, and that these adopted kids have too much baggage. Minister to orphans, but don't adopt them! Because bibles are just as important as having a real family.
Bunny, it's Uncle Pat. Did we really expect him not to say something racist? I mean, I know the good Lord has wonder working powers, but I think the Lord just gave up on Uncle Pat loving his neighbors.
Wow, that is disgusting. ((just read the OP didn't read all responses yet))
WTF? What does their being adopted have to do with her being dateable? Just because you are adopted doesn't mean you came from an abusive home. What about step kids? My mom had three kids when she met my step dad... what a bastard.
Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." Matthew 19:14
I'm really happy to read that almost no one agrees with this man on these terrible things he says.
Except for congregation and followers of this man of course. I'm guessing there are a few of them, right? Thats what always bothers me about this sort of thing. When Pat or Billy Graham or any of these dick heads spout this ridiculous crap, the defense is always "thats not being a proper christian" but obviously a whole bunch of people think that actually it is being a proper christian, and those people help fund and reinforce this point of view. If it was a one off comment, then yeah it could be dismissed as a one off weirdo thing, but he and others of his ilk have had long careers out of talking like this.
Still, on the plus side, at least he didn't blame the gays this time. Or was that later in the interview? lol.

I read the headline and I was all ready to post it to Facebook. But he didn't say the words that are in the headline. Hmm.
I'm definitely not a pat supporter, but I think he was talking about the potential boyfriends when he said not to take on other people's problems. Not the mother taking on birth parents' problems.
Agree that it was a douchey thing to say, but he never said not to adopt abused kids.

Did you watch the video?
Oh. No. I thought the article was a transcript of the video. I'll watch it.
