DH is seriously pissed that this show exists, as are most of his coworkers. He went off on a mini-rant every time a commercial came on during the Olympics. Now he just mutters something like "I hope they're using real ammo...jackasses." He's really disappointed in the female skier. I kinda view it with the same level of disgust as DWTS, and that show pisses me off to no end.

Stan-I think it cheapens the career by making it look like dance is so easy, anyone can be a pro in a matter of weeks.
I think a lot of it stems from people like my mom who would rather watch DWTS over something like SYTYCD or an actual tour- supporting celebrities role-playing as dancers instead of actual dancers who have worked their asses off for years in hopes of mastering both the technical and theater aspect of dance. If it came down to buying tickets for a tour, my mom would rather see Kate Gosslin (not really her, I just can't think of anyone else that's been on the show) bumble through a routine than an actual professional that deserves it.
A: Speaking of SYTYCD, Sibil, I didn't get your love of Cole until last night. He was amazing in the addiction piece. Amazing.

DH seemed to like it. I think its uber cheesy. It was kind of entertaining that they got a big smack in the face of reality during their first "mission."

We took it with a grain of salt and thought it was hilarious. Peekaboo Street was kind of annoying, but I kind of figured she would be. We'll probably watch it again. I like that they are raising money for charities.
i think it annoys me first how they advertised it "real ammo, real explosions, real danger" sure....they are "showing what the Service Members go through" um no you're not, basically you're doing a militarized version of fear factor & top shot combined in my eyes...sure you are having them do some of our training, but I think there were far better way to raise awareness for the charities they are donating too, which what they are giving is a pittance compared to what NBC is making, plus it's a tax dedcution for them and what the "stars" are making for the show.
if 5-6 people really put their minds and hearts into it, they could organize events and raise more than that by working with the charities to set up events...would it have the same nation exposure, no, but you can get on your local news, get in touch with your base's PAO, etc...

But all the men participating were/are a version of SF. That is what they do.
