So I'm debating whether to hire someone to clean our apt when we move - we don't need to do carpet cleaning or fixing holes etc (came up with an agreement based on us moving early for them so they could sell), but we do still need to clean it well I think. I probably *could* do it myself, but there is so much stress in our lives right now (personal and work) that it would be nice to not have to do it.
I had have only used one cleaning service (via groupon), but it just went out of business. Currently don't want to get into one that requires monthly cleaning etc, just one that could do a thorough 'move out' clean. Recs? Thanks!

I don't have a rec (the person we used doesn't really do it anymore), but I would definitely get someone to do it. It makes things SO much easier when you're dealing with a lot of other stuff with moving.
I think we paid $100 for someone to do a thorough cleaning of our 2 bed 1 bath apt when we moved. She moved the stove/fridge and cleaned under/on the sides and also took off all of the light globes and cleaned them, etc. She was very thorough. We got our entire deposit back.

awesome, yeah, I would like to hire someone for that. I will say that they have already agreed to give us the entire deposit back with sort of a good faith agreement that we'll clean it. I think they are just planning on doing whatever we miss themselves in return for us moving out early, but I'd rather just have it done professionally to prevent any 'oh we thought you'd clean this' (the only really clear thing we agreed on is no professional carpet cleaning or fixing holes/painting).
we didn't do move-out cleaning, we did that ourselves since we had plenty of time. we did a move-in cleaning, though, and hired a friend of a friend. she did really well...i don't know if she's still cleaning now, but i can ask if you're interested. i think we paid her about $200 and she did all the carpets, toilets, sinks, tubs, dusting, and other "ick factor" things you might want cleaned when moving in.
there's also lots of recommendations on FB community groups. i don't remember exactly where you live? my largest network right now is considered "edmonds", and there are lots of SAHM's that clean for 15-$25/hr.
