Who are my Talbots loving girls....tacosforlife, who else...
I got an email from Talbots last night with a request to do a customer survey. The email states the survey should take me 20-25 minutes. IMO, that's a LONG ASS TIME for a customer survey. My reward...an ENTRY into a drawing for one of 20 $200 gift cards. So a CHANCE to win. And, to top it off, the email came last night. The drawing is tomorrow. So they gave me 36 hours to do the survey that is going to take me 1.5% of that time. I have no doubt that plenty of people will find the time to do this. And I have no doubt that I will not.
FWIW, I do sometimes do the surveys at the bottom of the Target receipt that is essentially the same thing. A chance to win a giftcard. Those surveys take 30 seconds. Maybe I'll win. I also do surveys to get a free cookie from Subway. Those I'll def get something. But I won't be doing a 25 minute survey for a chance to win something that might buy me a pair of pants and a shirt from that store. I prob would have done it for a $5 off coupon, or 10% or something like that. If I'm going to spend a considerable amount of time giving a company marketing info they want, I want to know I'm getting something, even something small, for it .
Did you actually go through and take the survey? I've gotten a few of those where I'm told to budget 20-30 minutes for it, but it usually takes me under 10 minutes to blow through it.
Partially because I'm just clicking neutral answers as fast as I can (unless I have a strong opinion one way or the other), but I bet they do it to account for the people who take a long time to read, or The Oldz, or something.
I wouldn't say I'm a Talbot's love, but I did get one of my favorite pair of shoes there (although I modified them to make them my favorite). Anyway, I agree, for 20-25 minutes, they should give a coupon. A chance at something should mean 5 minutes, tops. I don't have 15 minutes of opinions about any store and I have opinions on everything.
I don't know. I don't think I'd do it for a discount, because I probably wouldn't get around to using it, but I'd do it for the chance of gift card. But hey, maybe this time they'll see that they get a much lower response and they'll adjust the incentives next time.

I added patches because I wanted to make them look like Stubbs & Wootton slippers, but I didn't want to pay for S&W slippers lol. They are extremely comfortable, though, that's part of why they're one of my favorites.

I got one last night from Sephora that was meant to take 30 minutes and you would get 200 bonus points. But the survey was only open until 5pm ET July 9, 2015. Uhmmm, okay. Why send it on July 22 then? Something is very fishy about it.

I'm shocked that you guys receive adequate responses, @bk! I was wondering about your company, too, and thought about what kinds of companies I would consider doing it long surveys for without any benefit. I'd decided it was a spa lol.
