Does anyone here feed Urban Wolf or something similar? We have just started our dog on it, and he will eat around 2-3 cups a day of the food. It's not that hard to make, but it's a little daunting to think about making it every single weekend for him. We are going to try to make 4 weeks of batches at a time, and freeze.
I ordered the mix from Wag.com, it seems to have the best prices.
I think we are going to continue cooking the meat, I don't like the idea of feeding raw meat or leaving it in the fridge for several days.
Any other tips on making it an easier process (and cheaper)?
I don't I had to look it up just to see what it was.
It seems like a good idea, I don't think you have to buy their mix and could probably replicate something fairly similar at home for less.
You can take the vegetable and fiber ingredients and prepare a lot of them, minced or chopped and cooked (I mean I don't eat raw potatoes but one of dogs would). And then added in raw egg to bind and cooked meat if that is what you prefer.
Out where you are is there a butcher shop that makes a version of pet food? Ours does it for like $2 a pound and it is a mix of offal meats and suet.
But I would make a large batch of them and then defrost it for them each day.
Currently I am not that dedicated and my pup gets a mix of Honest Kitchen dehydrated food, Arcadia (?), and raw food.
