I know a lot of us have blogs, but I feel like ever since the days of bios it's hard to remember what most everyone's homes look like. Anyone up for a little PIP action? Finished rooms, in progress rooms, not started rooms, whatever you'd like to share. The more pics the better for a PIP post

I PIP'd some just the other day! I need to start my blog back up badly. I'll make it my project this week while I'm bored at work, I guess. Too bad my work computer doesn't have photoshop!

I'm so embarrassed about how crowded and non-decored our rental is I literally don't have one photo of the inside. But I'll happily AW the view from my deck lounge:
Derp. I edited so, you know, an actual photo shows up.
I just added my current favorite room to my sig. I need to spend more time in it!
Nice! I've always wanted a library, although I haven't bought a single book since I got my ereader. DH wants to put my books up in the attic since I don't "need" them anymore

We've been in our house almost 3 years and I still don't let anyone go upstairs for this reason . The downstairs is only now finally presentable since we're not in the middle of some renovation in one of the rooms. I still need to decorate a lot of it! You do have a great view!

This room is the furnace room. It was white cinderblock. I'll have to find a before photo. This was the logical reno since it's a hot room but even with my beloved Kindle, I can't part with a true book. It's an obsession and we already outgrew the shelf space in here.
Hi, I'm new here. Here are before and after of the kitchen I just finished (no DIY - I'm clueless). 1950 cottage: had chicken wire put in some cabinets, custom doors on appliance pantry, marble counters, and built in china cabinet over the washer/ dryer. New appliances. Country French/cottage style: Before:
After:
Oh wow I love your kitchen!! You guys did a great job!
sassafras - (sorry, can't quote due to weird work filter issue) it was a bit of a pain, but not too bad. The cinderblock really doesn't affect anything since the framing isn't attached to the walls at all. The bottom sill is anchored to the concrete slab, which required drilling into it and using tapcons. It's not hard, but the rotary hammer to get into the slab is expensive.
You might be able to get by with a cheaper tool if your house is newer - concrete gets harder as it ages (it keeps curing for a shockingly long time) and our 1950's slab is a bitch and a half to get into. The brand new concrete our plumber placed after he ran the new drain lines is like butter in comparison.

Thank you! I think MH has a rotary hammer and I guess we'd need it since my house is from the early 60's!
Thanks! The bathroom color is Silverado Trail (Behr), and I've been very happy with it. The kitchen antiques (oven, bin table) stay, the cabinets GO. They are warped plywood and don't close properly. They are super cheap replacements (the place used to be a rental). My silverware drawer has to be repaired constantly because it's so poorly put together :/ I'm looking for a good cabinet maker at the moment. We're thinking about a wood floor to replace the cork and subway tile up the walls. The kitchen works for now, it could just be a lot better/more period appropriate.
Juno - where did you get the rug in your foyer? It's stunning.
Thanks, it's from a local rug dealer. I think it's from Pakistan. That rug began my addiction to knotted wool rugs. I agonized over it for weeks because it's pretty far outside my comfort zone color-wise, but I finally had to have it. I still love it so much that it's actually opened me up on my color schemes. Before I made the leap, everything was green, brown and cream, and I hated blue. Admittedly I still have a lot of green/brown/cream, but I have moved away from it a bit.
