I hate the cheap stuff for kids. The spoons are so tiny, and half the time they are flat. The forks don't seem to poke anything, etc. They are just hard to eat with.
I bought This set for DS and love it. but it's $20 which I think is really expensive. I'd like another set or2, but not at that price. Any recs?
If you dont have a rec, at what age does a child typically eat from adult flatware comfortably? DS can use it, but it's so long, it's just really awkward and not particularly efficient.
At 2.5, DD will occasionally ask to use a "big" spoon or fork (teaspoon or salad fork) from our cutlery set; she does okay with them, but they're definitely still a little too big for her to use well.
We have these and DD really likes them. They've held up well and I like that they look nice but are different enough from ours that she knows they are hers.

Thanks, everyone. It sounds like he should be on the verge of easily using the regular stuff, so I'll just KOKO with our one set that we have, rather than buying more kids/small stuff just for him.
I have these Ikea plastic ones. They've held up well in the dishwasher and the price is decent. I keep one of the sets in the diaper bag for when we're at a restaurant, a set at the grandparents, etc.
The forks are sharp enough that they actually poke food. He hasn't started using a knife, but they seem like they'll actually cut when he needs to learn, without actually being too sharp.
My MIL gave me a couple old sets she had from when her kids were little; they'd been baby gifts for her kids.
My aunt gave me the youth stainless she bought when I was a kid that matched her Oneida flatware from 1949. You can sometimes find this stuff at antique stores. The Henkels set is beautiful.

I love these. They've held up well for years. I don't mind the kids using our regular stainless, but we don't always have enough place settings of it when we have other families with multiple kids over. The PB kids stuff gives us extra silverware for the kiddos but still looks nice.
