I'm with Ang--he's going to love it. I moved up to Alaska, away from family and friends, and I'm so glad I did. It opened a whole new world for me. I think all kids should leave home for awhile and get out on their own.
It's going to be okay, sue. This is what parenthood is all about.

Ds2 is really suffering; he and ds1 are so close, and their break is going to be the hardest, on both of them.
Thankfully we live in a time that will allow them to stay in constant contact... Skype/Face Time, FB, text messages, phone calls, ect. (I can't imagine what it was like before the convenience of instant communication). It will be an adjustment for them, but they won't lose each other.
