I'll also add Fleet Landing to the list for Charleston. We also love to go to Club Habana a Martini/Cigar bar above the Tinderbox. Great place to have a drink.
We were only in Nashville one night and ate at Whiskey Kitchen. Food was really good.
I've heard Southern is really good in Nashville. For breakfast, Puckett's was yummy and downtown. I've heard Loveless Cafe is amazing but I didn't want to take a taxi.
A friend sent me these rec's for Nashville when I went: Nashville Restaurants- some of my favorites are..... Bound'ry (- pansouth.net/boundry/aboutus.php pancake pantry- A MUST!!! Get there early, because there have been 2 hour waits and lines round the block- www.thepancakepantry.com/ Noshville- A nashville staple- great lunch spot for some delicatessens- www.noshville.com/ Sambuca- My favorite! Great place for food and drinks located in the west end- www.sambucarestaurant.com/ Loveless Cafe- very famous southern cooking- www.lovelesscafe.com/ www.lovelesscafe.com/ firefly Grille- www.urbanspoon.com/r/47/510607/restaurant/Green-Hills/Firefly-Grille-Nashville Whiskey Kitchen- great laid back place to get a drink (my favorite bar)- 118 12th Ave. S. Also, places you shouldn't skip going to- bluebird cafe- www.bluebirdcafe.com/ Grand Ole Opry- I don't know how much is up and running since the flood, but I know they have been working hard to restore it. -http://www.opry.com/ Broadway- This is the main street in downtown Nashville where all the country bars are. It is very touristy, but kinda fun. There is live music every night and just a great atmosphere to experience Nashville's music scene. (must hit up Tooties) The Parthenon- The only full-size replica of the Parthenon in Greece. Located- 25th at West End Ave Centennial Park Nashville, TN 37201 Music Row- Where all the music studios and headquarters are located- 16th/17th Ave. South - Division Street and Music Square Nashville, TN
\ Excellent suggestions! Tootsies and Legends on Broadway are a must. The Grand Ole Opry is open and restored, we did the back stage tour while there. Also check out the Ryman tour- it's right off Broadway behind Tootsies and Legends. And the Country Music Hall of Fame (downtown also). We also wandered around the Opryland hotel for a few hours (next to G.O. Opry).
Another Nashville Rec - The Palm. It's pricey but i had the most ginormous carrot cake EVER! Bricktops was also nice. I had a Parmesan crusted lemon caper chicken entree. It was delish.
I can't tell you what to do there for fun though. I'm always there for business. Never any fun. *sigh*
