What prompted you to finally turn your DC around?
DD is 3 years 1 month and still rear facing. She's little, 28 lbs and 36 inches. I've always said we'd rear face to the limit but I really think I'll be dropping her off at kindergarten still rear facing. She doesn't complain but she has asked when she'll get a seat like her ffing brother. I still don't think I'll consider if until she's closer to 4 but I am curious what others have done.

My daughter has a super long torso and at 2 1/2 will soon reach the height limit for her car seat. I am tempted to buy a taller car seat to keep her rear facing longer, but don't know if that is even possible with the addition of the infant seat this week. I am having a really hard time decided whether to turn her on not.
Sorry this wasn't really helpful, but I am interested in what other people have to say.

DS is 3yrs 3.5mos and still rfing. He is small at about 36" and 31 lbs. His seat rfs to 40lbs and he's not nearly tall enough to worry about the head position. However, I'm thinking we will turn him around this summer. Probably after I get my car cleaned and I have to remove the seats anyway!
DD was close to 40lb and I was worried she'd go over soon. She was 3.5 when I turned her. If my kids were tiny, I think I'd probably turn them at 4, but maybe not. I know longer is better, so if the kid is ok with it then leave it RFing. So basically, I'm no help at all
I did buy a bigger seat (radian) to let them RF longer. Radian's are very skinny and good for getting 3 across if needed.

I've turned her in DH's car because she outgrew the seat (Cosco Scenera) about a month ago. She's still rear facing in my car in a First Years True Fit Premier with loads of room. I hope to not turn her until she's 4.
She's a bit over three feet tall and 30ish pounds, but all her height is in her legs. She'll be three at the end of July.

We were leaving for vacation where she would not be able to rear face in the car at our final destination...so we switched her fwd a few days before we left so it wasnt a big deal to her once we got there. She was 2years2months.
I turned DD FF right before she turned 3. We were going on a series of long car trips and it was easier to hand stuff back to her and check on her that way (she is very demanding in the car. lol)
She still isn't 30 pounds yet but we just kept her FF (she's tiny but tall).
We turned DD when we needed to transfer DS from an infant seat to a convertible. DH and I are both tall and couldn't drive with two RF convertibles in either of our cars. It happened sooner than I had hoped since DS is off the charts for height. DD was 2 and 4 months. 6 months later she would have outgrown the seat by height anyway. I'm worried about what will do with DS since he's so tall.
DD is almost 3 feet and 40 ish pounds. She wears 4T-5T clothing. We turned her around at about 2 years old. She is a larger child though. The switch was easy.
