So say you work in an office, that originally had 20 people. Due to a walk out, 18 of those people left, leaving you and your boss full time (and sometimes two other people that pop in to work at your offices), how much work would you do? Would you work your normal hours, or would you cut out early/show up late? Does having other people in the office change how would work? Just curious as to what other people would do.

This is brought to you by the fact that everyone is surprised that I still am doing all of my work, showing up on time, etc. after our walk out. My answer is "My job hasn't gone away, just because the people left. My job hasn't been centered around the office that I work out of for the last two years, so it doesn't really matter." (We have two other locations that are actually doing work, and require AR/AP and it's been like that for awhile.)
Is it weird that I am in ~10,000+ square feet of space by my self? Absolutely. But it doesn't change the fact that my job is requiring time and attention. People's reactions have been so weird, lol.

I would still fully do my job. But to be honest, because I'm not a morning person, I would probably come in 15 minutes late every day...and take a little longer lunch. But I've worked at a place for 3+ years where everyone is generally pretty lax about those things as long as you get your job done.
I'd probably ask to work from home... but that's just because working by myself in a 10k sqft building would freak me out.
The fact that you're actually doing your job is not weird. At all.
This is what I am pushing for...but the answer is a) security/classified info, b) we are paying rent (until Feb. 2017, I believe), so someone should be using it, and c) my boss can't work full time from home (because she can't focus/ignore distractions), so she projects that on to me. Though she is nice enough to let me work from home one day a week, so I can't complain too loudly. Thankfully, there are people above and below me on other floors (and other departments on this floor, that I am not allowed to access), so it's just our space (80% of the floor) that is empty, with me hanging out in it.
I am a sucker for taking on more work without more compensation. So, I would stay, but probably try to do the work of the 18 people that left and kill myself doing it.

@stellarsailor - there are a lot of reasons why they won't let us sublease - the main being a government contractor took the entire rest of the building and we fought to keep out space. So they compromised, and said we could have it for the rest of the five years, with the specific condition that we can't sublease. Good times!
As for taking on more work - I don't have the right qualifications to be an investment banker and they pretty much dissolved out group, so there isn't much work not getting done (if that makes sense). I do appreciate the quiet, and I am finding myself way more productive. (Though I am enjoying my WFH day today!)
