So I've been realizing eating breakfast either on the way or at work is probably going to make my mornings easier. What are your go to quick and portable breakfasts? I usually don't do smoothies but might be willing if it will actually fill me up. I'm not a huge yogurt or parfait fan. Suggestions?
I sort of find this a struggle too. How about: bananas, other fruit that you prepare/wash the night before, bagel with cream cheese, Kind bars, nuts, raisins.

Oooh, oooh, I just made frozen oatmeal yesterday "pucks", and microed a couple for 3mins and go-to-go, or I've made pancake muffins, which is just pancake batter baked in muffin tins.

When I was commuting I would usually wait and eat at the office. I'd try and bring things that I could cook in advance and heat up, like an omelette or eggs & sausage breakfast muffins.
I always ate on the go or at my desk. I have this down!
1: Egg cups (mix eggs, bacon, sausage, cheese, and your veggies of choice. Bake in cupcake tin and freeze. Reheat for 30 sec in microwave)
2: Prebake several loaves of zucchini or banana bread. Freeze. Pull out for a week as needed.
3: Bake a batch of muffins on Sunday. Should last all week. They don't freeze well
4: Packets of the Belvita breakfast Biscuits or Trader Joes (originally I wrote Costco but was wrong) fiber and oat bars
5: Bagel and cream cheese
6: Yogurt with berries and granola. Divy up servings on Sunday with berries and granola in separate bags. Just grab and go.
All of the above except egg cups I include a piece of fruit and cup of milk (in my case, almond milk). I kept disposabal utensils at my desk in case I forgot one.
Thanx amaranth for the ideas. DH and I are making breakfast burritos this weekend. It's a recipe I found on Pinterest. So easy to make ahead customize and freeze. I'll see if I can find the link.

hard boiled eggs, I also love the way these taste and they have a lots of protein to keep you full. full disclosure this is how I make them, there are other variations of them. 1 cup peanut butter 1/2 cup honey in a sauce pan heat pb & honey until mixed and smooth pour over 2 cups uncooked quick oats mix together. if mixture seems a little too wet add more oats press in to bar pan refrigerate cut and serve OR I pick up little bits of mixture roll in to ball, put in container and cool.
next one : spray muffin tin with no stick spray pour raw scrambled eggs & and what ever else you like in. and bake at 400 for about 15 mins maybe more maybe less depending on oven. I like these a lot because it's almost like an on the go omelet. I can tell you they reheat well.
Smoothies- I use spinach, frozen banana, splash of pineapple juice if I don't have fresh or frozen pineapple handy, some greek yogurt, and protein powder. The protein powder and greek yogurt are key if I want it to fill me up until my plan.
I also do hardboiled eggs, but I bake them in the oven rather in a pot on the stove top. This allows me to walk away while they are going and not overdo them.
Greek yogurt
bagel with cream cheese
I don't have easy access to a microwave until my plan and lunch periods. So I need stuff that doesn't have to be reheated.
Now I am inspired to make maybe some smoothie bags for the freezer as well. Yummy. Sunday will be a say to fill the freezer.
I've been wanting to do this plus overnight oats or premade bags of oatmeal. I have recipes on Pinterest. Maybe this will be motivation! I could just heat up oatmeal before I leave and keep it in a thermos kinda thing. Hmm...
Everyone else has really good ideas....I just bought and made Jimmy dean delights. Cliff bars are also good for on the go w fruit.
I feel lazy in comparison to other posters lol.
Ate those the breakfast sandwiches similar to McDonalds' mcmuffins? I've always been curious how they compare and if they'd fulfill my random craving without leaving the house.

I like them personally! I just don't like eating them on the go or heating them up at work.
ETA: didn't finish my thought they have a few different kinds. I like the sausage and Canadian bacon ones best. But yeah, they are generally egg mcmuffin type sandwiches.

I love the flat bread with egg white and spinach, I add microwave bacon.
I make baked oatmeal, cut into portion sizes, and freeze. You can microwave them.
I have also done homemade breakfast burritos that I keep in the freezer.
I have a muffin recipe that I make as well. I keep muffins frozen and put one in a container and send it with DH everyday. It thaws by the time he is ready for it. It is used as a snack for him. (I also send bananas daily).

I eat either on the drive to work or at work. Oatmeal has been one of my biggies. I make a huge pot of steel cut oatmeal on Sunday then just fish out what I want and add walnuts, strawberries, and brown sugar.
Also Trader Joe's has delicious breakfast burritos.

Everyone else gave some good ideas. I'm an eat on the go or at work gal, and usually do some variation of the stuff amaranth mentioned.
Right now I'm in a Horizon Choc Milk (like in the juice box) and banana in the car phase, then I do something more protein heavy about an hour later at work. I like sweets for breakfast though. Always have.
I usually eat a bagel with cream cheese for breakfast. Breakfast muffins are a great grab-and-go, though. Also, I agree with awick14 about the frozen breakfast burritos. I've never made them but I've heard they're super quick and easy.
