I remember the story about them launching another expedition a few months ago after reviewing that photo taken in 1937. This is so neat!

I've always been kind of fascinated by her and what happened. There's a dorm named after her at Purdue (it was right by the dorm I lived in). I didn't realize until I was in college that her plane for that trip was financed by Purdue, either.

A fascinating story. Except it'd probably be only one grave... no one to bury whoever survived longer.

I think I've read in previous articles that they've found artifacts from the era on the island but nothing definitive as having belonged to them. I.e. makeup compact, an old shoe, etc from the era but without "property of Amelia Earhart" on the side.

I am so fascinated by the possibilities of what happened after they crashed. How long did they survive, and where did they find shelter?
