I suck at working under tight deadlines. Or maybe I just suck at working. Feeling super down about the fact that DS was up all night and now refuses his morning nap and by the time the sitter gets here at 1, I will have no brain power to focus on what I need to get done BY tOMORROW.

DD had his 2 week today. He weighed 8lbs 6oz, which is about a pound up from his birth weight and 1.5lbs since his weight drop after birth. The Dr called him a piggy lol.

I just realized you can see straight through my skirt to my brightly colored, flowered underwear. It's not a maternity skirt but it fit below the belly so I though I was good. Guess I underestimated how fat my ass has gotten...oops.
DH "slept" with DS all night. They look pretty pathetic this morning. I did feel bad/relieved that I have to be at work today.
I really hope DS feels better soon. I think he has a cold on top of his surgery recovery (because I think I have a cold I caught from him). He's a mess. A literal, snotty mess.
Driving up to the White Mountains in NH for family vacation. The ILs will also be there, so there is that. We are taking DS to his first amusement park, Story Land.

Home from our ultrasound! From my completely non-expert opinion, baby looked good and healthy. Which basically means that I saw the four chambers of the heart, two sides of the brain, two arms and two legs.
We held strong and didn't find out the sex. Of course, H and I were both watching closely to see if we saw anything and neither of us have a real inkling of what it is. Especially since there were a few times that that tech was like, "This is the stomach" and I definitely thought it was the head or something else. Haha. The one time I thought I saw a shot of both legs I didn't see anything between them, so who knows?
I also don't have an anterior placenta this time, so I'm curious to see how movement is different than with C. Even with the anterior last time, C moved ALL the time and I felt him all day long. I am surprised by how little movement I've felt so far this time and it was making me nervous. But baby was all over the place during the ultrasound, so I'm feeling a lot better now.

nessness- Yay for clapping!! What age are they supposed to clap? C is almost 8 months and nowhere close.
DH was complaining he was tired this morning because he had to wakeup to turn the swamp cooler off at 10:30 last night. Yeah, no sympathy dude...I'm up at 10:30 every night feeding C.
C just took a 45 min morning nap...it's going to be a LONG day. It's hot and he's teething/not napping.

I'm so behind planning DD's birthday party for labor day weekend. I need to get invitations out, but its too late to order them. Is my only other option to buy ones at target and fill them out? Its mainly family coming.

Good growth scan this morning. This child is also measuring minimum 2 weeks ahead, head and legs are 4+ lots of fluid and still head down! L had his second dentist appointment this morning too. He did so well- they even polished his teeth and he just let them. Lol. They said his molars are riiiiight there, so I'm really hoping they pop through SOON.

You can order picture invites online through Walmart or CVS and pick up in store later in the day. (And probably Target and Walgreens, etc. I've just never tried)

Second day of school and the whole house woke up late. We were out until 10pm at a Sporting KC game. Thank goodness it is a half day or I don't know if the kids would make it.

Blood pressure is still hanging in there for now. More lab work on Monday to make a final decision about steriods for my platelet issue.
I'm 2cm dilated and the medical assistant my dr. grabbed to be in the room while he checked me was a girl I went to high school with. Just slightly awkward, haha.
I was watching the Today show and someone was on talking about "firing up the under 35 crowd" politically. I was talking back to the TV that he didn't know what he was talking about b/c I was fired up... And then I remembered I'm not under 35 anymore!!
Completely agree on the bagel thing. Seeded/savory bagels in one bag and sweet bagels in another. We have bagels from Panera often at work and I hate biting in to an Asiago cheese bagel and getting a taste of cinnamon crunch. I'm shuddering right now even thinking about it!
I'm getting frustrated with Ebates. I'm constantly getting messages saying "Were you looking for something at __ store?" Soon after placing my order, through Ebates, at that store. So I have to go through the whole where's my money thing. Then I get the message stating this doesn't usually happen, blah, blah. It's really frustrating right now because I placed 3 separate Kohl's orders recently to maximize the coupons/deals and received that message. Guess I'll go through the motions for all 3 orders. I spent $150, so we're not taking about $.87 back.
H had a quick phone call today with a recruiter at Giant Company for a role he seemed to be a good match for, but turns out this specific role will specialize in an area he does not have direct experience with. There is a posting they want to talk to him about that fits his skill set really well... but it would mean relocation to the company HQ in another state, which we're not interested in.
niq, he actually applied for a position with your company as well! We'll see if that goes anywhere.
My boss, who makes in the 7 figures, asked me to drive him to his car dealership to pick up his car from service when I leave for the day. Then he says "it's like 5 minutes out of your way home so we can leave 5 minutes early." Gee thanks. I think I do this like 5 times a year. When I am done for the day I want to just be gone and not see anyone from work. Get a taxi!
I wonder if he knows that the rest of the common working person has to just figure this out on their own to get their oil changed!
ETA: I'm pretty sure the dealer will either drop off your car or pick you up. Mine does and it's not even a "fancy" dealer.

It's H's birthday today. My dad is taking him out to lunch, but I have a meeting, so it will just be them, lol. And H is choosing to go to band practice tonight. So... yeah. I hope I get cake at some point, though.

Had a great morning with DS at the zoo and even bought him a stuffed gorilla because hearing him say "Rilla eating lettuce" is adorable. Then we got home and he turned into a terror to the point that I seriously screamed at him, immediately felt like the world's worst parent, and started crying while reading him books before nap.
Then I happened to call his new daycare to ask a question about tuition and was reminded that the school year starts Sept. 8, not Sept. 1 like I assumed.
I don't have another patient til 445p (it's 245p EST now). Since it's been a slow week overall my to do list is minimal. So...I think I'm going to go get some fries at Wendy's. Or maybe Baskin Robbins. Or hell, maybe both.
nessness- Yay for clapping!! What age are they supposed to clap? C is almost 8 months and nowhere close.
7-9 months. So she wasn't too far behind, but I'm a worrier.
Try giving him wooden spoons to bang together; I think that's what helped DD figure it out.
Thanks for the suggestion! I worry about these things too, especially since I SAH and feel like I need to engage with him a little more. Sometimes I wonder if he would be doing better (he's doing great though) if he were in daycare. Definitely my Type A personality shining through there.
When did she crawl (assuming she is)? C has been on all fours and rocking for awhile now but still not crawling. I keep thinking "any day now kid"...even the librarian thought he might be crawling by storytime next Tues...I doubt he will be though.

Thanks! We actaully drive by that playground and i told DS we need to stop later

There's a bigger playground & splash pad in the center of North Conway near the train station, which is nice too. But the one at Lickety Splits, DS can do everything 100% on his own. The one near the train station has a few random spots where DH and I have to stand so DS doesn't accidently drop off (aka, a fire pole or climbing wall that he just can't do yet), lol
We have a condo in that area and we really enjoy visiting. Next visit is with my ILs too, so I feel your pain. First time ALL together (14 total) since DS was born, so expect complaining next week, ha.
