Will switch over to tapatalk to add pics. This is my yearly Fireman's Ball thread in which I solicit dress advice:)
Obviously I have house cleaning hair right now, but these 2 dresses came in and I tried them on tonight. One more is on the way still.
Thoughts? Both would need to be hemmed. I think I like the black and white better. H likes the gold better.
Update:
SO today I sent back the gold and the navy. I'm going with the black and white. I plan to accessorize with red shoes, red lip, if I can pull that off, red nails and clutch. Likely pearl earrings. Probably a pinup-inspired updo and eye.
Thank you for your advice and I'll be back with shoes, etc!

And neither can be worn for a wedding, right? H says go for it but I think they are both fine for a ball, but a bit much for a wedding guest. 4pm wedding and reception at a country club. Not black tie. I planned on grabbing a lbd from my closet for an upcoming wedding.

I think that if you have an event where you can get away with wearing a floor-length sequin gown you should not miss the opportunity. The gold is really pretty on you with your blond hair. I think you could have a major wow-moment in that dress. That being said, the shape & fit of the black & white is really great on you so if you can't really go wrong.

Gringa has been walking around in my brain cuz all of this.
My mind is torn. On the one hand, gold sparkles! But on the other, the black and white dress is killer on you. Seriously, it's so gorgeous. I think I would go black and white.

One thing about the gold - I'm not pregnant and I'm wearing spanx already in that pic., I foresee myself losing 5 lbs but not more than that this Fall.
I'm torn. I love the gold because hello, sequins. But I like the fit and shape of the black and white dress better. What's the other one you have coming?

I love the gold, because sequins! but TBH I think the shape of the black and white is more flattering on you. I really want to see the blue when it comes in because I think that has the potential to look really fantastic!
Definitely post this one when you get it. I think the shape will be better than the gold but it's fancier than the black one. I think that color will look great on you too.

This. It's a ball. Wear the sequins. With a red lip of course. Va-va-voom.

Whoa, picture overload, I'm sorry.
So the new dress came in. H hates it. He says it's too Downton Abbey. I'd actually love that, because I love that style.
Whatever. I can't wear a bra with the navy one. And I love the dress, but not really on my figure.
The gold one - it's actually the "lead" color. I'll link it on the nordstrom website. I like the color a lot. Warm enough for my complexion. I tried to get more pics but they all came out gold. I just feel like I have to suck in so much with the gold. Some of those pics I look pretty good in, but in reality I think it just looks like A big rectangle on me with a mom pooch. H loves it though.
The black and white is my fave at this point, because I feel appropriate in it.
But I haven't really made a decision. Except that I'll have to return the navy.
