I had to take him back to the humane society this afternoon. He's really sick. It happened so fast. He seemed fine last night, was a little lethargic when I went in this morning. By the time I reached someone and they told me to bring him in, he wasn't even moving, and his breathing was labored. I seriously didn't even think he was going to survive the ride there. They gave him some fluids and meds and kept him. I can call in the morning to see what happened overnight. It sounds like he maybe has a 50/50 chance.
We still have his brother, who hasn't stopped meowing since I left. Poor little guys.
Update- he didn't make it. I'm glad he's not suffering anymore. His brother misses him though- I'm hoping we can get another kitten or two to keep him company.
Sending good thoughts. How old is he? Our pup had a similar experience at 8 weeks, and also couldn't keep any water down. He was given enough fluids that would be given to a 80 pound dog (and he was only 7 or 8 pounds at the time), and after resting, he bounced back to normal.
