No- they tested him for panleukopenia, and that was negative. Willie seems to be ok, but I'll definitely be keeping a close eye on him.
That's great that he tested negative. It likely won't happen to his brother - sometimes kittens just fade and some will bounce back with treatment but with others there is nothing that will save it . If it does happen again get the kitten warm and give it sugar (we use dextrose but karo syrup works too, which you can just rub on its gums if it won't swallow) while you take it in.

Thanks for the advice. They did tell us up front, before we started fostering, that this happens sometimes. Some of them are so young when they come in, and they don't know what they've been exposed to. These two were found in a storm drain.

Yes far too often with kittens I help care for about 150 orphaned kittens and there is so much sadness but thankfully that is outnumbered by the cuteness and success stories
